    First shots fired

I sent the first rounds down range from my new AUG this morning. Some initial thoughts:

    1. This rifle is incredibly compact - 28" with ASR flash hider and 31.5" with Saker 556K suppressor.

    Thanks!

The notion of a grenade launcher or bayonet is intriguing but, probably not of much use here in the Big Empty.

Have any of you experimented with 75 - 77 grain bullets? I'm thinking given the 1/9...

AUG Initial Impressions and a Question

I have my new AUG in hand. Some initial impressions and a question:

    1. This rifle is very compact. I need to do some side-by-side comparisons but, I think it's shorter than my 11.5" AR SBR.

    Sample of one

I recently purchased a Tikka T3X Varmint 223. My local rifle smith chopped the barrel to 20" and threaded the muzzle. I dropped the barreled action into a KRG Bravo. I'm early in load development...

77 TMK & Varget - Bolt Rifle Loads

I prefer the Tipped Match King (TMK) 77 grain bullet. In my limited experience, it flies well and offers better terminal performance than the SMK. I get good groups with 24.2 - 24.4 grains Varget....

    Brake cleaner

My Microtech UTX-85 quit firing without warning last week. Some blasts of non-chlorinated brake cleaner got it working. I think it might be best to do some periodic preventative cleaning on a regular...

  14. Vortex LHT

Thanks. It's my new favorite rifle. I mounted a Vortex LHT this weekend. It's about an inch shorter and 8 ounces lighter than the Viper PST Gen II 3-15×44 I had initially installed. The glass is...
  15. Magnetospeed

I'm using a Magnetospeed: https://magnetospeed.com/v3-ballistic-chronograph. It works well and doesn't have the usual screens that I would doubtless blow to smithereens.

I did find a nice load:
