Haven't seen LaRue mentioned in the high cost recommendations. Did they fall out of favor for some reason I'm unaware of?
GJM, I think there's an important distinction to be made between Lee's work and this situation. The APEX parts emerged as a response to a widely reported and verifiable problem that hundreds if not...
I respect the work done at Gray Guns, but given that I haven't heard word one about this issue over the course of weeks of semi-obsessive reading about the VP9, range reports, reviews, 2000 round...
Thanks for the response, and the help! My .170 is on its way.
Yeah, that's very helpful, thank you. Did you ever experiment with the .155 height front sight? If so, what were your results?
Thanks CCT. What's your your POA/POI up close (3-7 yards) with that set up?
What height are you guys using for the Dawson trit front with a 10-8 rear? .155? .170? Are you doing a top of blade sight alignment, or are you driving the dot? I read a couple threads here on the...
Yep. With the Trijicon HDs you can hit that colored dot with light and it glows for a bit too in addition to the tritium. I like mine, wish the front post were a little narrower though.

My instinct is to think that I'd rather train with vetted professionals in the area, but the focus here seems to be on mindset and tactics rather than a...
It might chafe some tummies, but I love how secure the P30's grip texture is. No stippling required.
I can't offer a comparison, but I've worn my JM own in a couple of classes and I love it. Low profile, draws the grip of my pistol into my body, but the draw is still easy. I'm pretty sure Tony is a...
FWIW I bought my P30 on the grounds that it would be the safest bet. Never a hint of a problem, though I'm a low volume shooter too. I also only have a little over 2k rounds through mine, cleaned it...
I drive a 2004 Toyota RAV4. Sprightly, stupidly reliable, lets me carry camping equipment, decent mileage, and enough clearance to let me handle some of the bumpy desert back roads out here. Not my...

Ugh. Guns don't go "up in there", please.

The true essence of dependability.
Does the image have to be original too, or just the the text?
My support hand, even resting lightly against the base of the lever, doesn't exert enough pressure to prevent the slide from locking back. Conversely, even light pressure from my thumb on the stepped...
So, after a few months of training with my P30, I rented a Glock 19 the other day just out of curiosity. Learned a couple things:
I shoot the Glock trigger better, even without training on it....
Even 9mm 124 +p HSTs? Be nice if I didn't have to get a dedicated woods gun for local fauna. Or should I move to 147 for these purposes?
Also, just as a point of curiosity, is the data on service...
Got an REI Kimtah. Expensive but incredibly breathable. Since we're there toward the early months of the wet season it should be okay. I heard it gets cold in Monte Verde. Was that your experience?
Thanks JFK. Tortuguero definitely sounds like the kind of experience I'm after. Adding it to the list.
I do have a bunch of smartwool socks that have served me well on hikes in hot/dry and...
Thanks Bai. Great post! Very helpful. Now I know that can bypass all that other nonsense and just wear the banana thong the whole time. I'll order leopard print for camo purposes.
I'll be heading to Costa Rica at the end of the month. While there we're going to be doing some hiking in the cloud jungle. I was wondering what the forum goers here recommend in boots and pants for...
I've heard that it's smart to send them off to a qualified smith. I think there's a thread on this forum on the subject.
Maybe we're both just kittened up cynical people, but there it seemed that there was something "off" about it to me too. Sickening, regardless.
