This civil guard drill is become drill that I often shoot at the end of training session. Good drill that makes you concentrate accuracy and trigger control. Good that you make different versions of...
Todays shooting not so good. With Beretta 8/8 hits but only 6 good centered hits and 2 just barely on target. With Luger I had many stoppages and maybe 5 hits. It sure didn't like cold weather. To...
Tomorrow I'll try this with Parabellum(Luger) and Beretta 92. 1911 would be good for this drill specially with those small and hard to see original sights. Hope my shooting buddies try this too. ...
Saturday I try again at outdoor range. So true cold drill😀
I shot this drill yesterday with Beretta 92. About 8" group but...I might missed one shot or hit 2shots in one hole. One bullet hole is so ragged so that is real possibility. I have to try this again...
I totally forgot to shoot this drill with modern pistol. Maybe I try this cold as well.
I use mostly 5 round Tikka magazines in my 30-06 T3. So far no reliability issues.
Yes. Same target was also used in some 300 meter and longer rifle ahooting drills. And machine gun and light machine gun drills.
Target was quite large silhouette style target. 25" wide and 60" tall. For some reason I can't add photo to this thread. You can search" finnish army target gunboards" and find picture of target.
I recently shot old Finnish civil guard shooting drill with 7,65 Parabellum or Luger pistol. Drill is shot at 25 meters in 20 seconds. 8 rounds and pass is 7 hits in syöksyjä or attacker figure...
While ago I tried scout rifle snap shot challenge with Sako 92s. Challenge was created by @onthescout youtube channel. It differs from Jeff Coopers snap shot drill by having 2 targets instead of one....
Last Monday I participated remote shooting competition called Cabin fever challenge 2022. It is challenging shooting match that require shooting in standing, kneeling, prone and sitting positions. 5...
That 1895 was very fast handling and easy to shoot even at longer distances. Sights were very good and easy to see. With rubber recoil pad shooting was enjoyable even with Sellier&Bellot 180gr full...
Close range shooting with Winchester 1895. Sadly rifle is sporterized. Good smooth action and fast to shoot. That range day was first time with lever action rifle to me. Very enjoyable experience.

Comparing Sako 92 and m/39 is like comparing AR-15 and m1917. Selfloader will be faster, easier to reload and propably more easier to hit target especially with optic sights. At Cabin fever challenge...
Here is video about some close range rifle drills. This time with Finnish Mosin m/39 but of course these can be shoot with any other rifle like scout rifles.

There was one M/27rv on sale while ago at reasonable price 800€. Because of Finnish gun laws I couldn't buy that soon enough. We have to get gun permit first and then we can buy gun. It can take...
Range day again. This time shooting old Finnish civil guard drill from Ampumakirja (shooting book)book. Good drill even today.

East German and Chinese folding stock Ak rifles are indeed used in armored troops and tank crews. Those rifles are little ligther than Rk 62.
I can shoot 3,5" 5 shot groups at 150 meters with my M39. Those groups are from bench, not free hand. Pretty good because of my aging eyes. I wonder what that rifle is capable of. I use...
I like to have M28-30, true civil guard rifle. Nothing wrong with M/39 tho. And real Suomi KP-31 but that is kind of difficult in Finland.
Ammo for Finnish defence forces is made by Lapua. Very high quality and expensive. I use in my Sako 92S Sako or Geco ammo. Lapua cost too much.
I dont know how Mosin safety was used or was it...
Finnish military still uses FN da pistols along with Glock 17.
East German and Chinese Ak's are storaged for war time and Valmet and Sako assault rifles are in every day use. Some older Rk's (7,62...
I think Finland has not so many Rk 62's at that time. M39's were also used as training rifles and for artillery crews and so on. Actually Finland bought 200000 Ak's from Germany and China at 1990's....
