Thread drift.
As my boomer self can gather, 'bougie' is the present day slang term for bourgeois. That term was a descriptive for a certain social class level (generally middle class, both lower...
Thank you for correcting me.
For some reason I was certain it was all steel.
It is all stainless steel.
The P229 was built in steel to handle the 40 S&W and 357 SIG rounds that an alloy framed gun wouldn't be able to handle.
Turns out I was wrong.
The ISO doesn’t require a screw down crown, at least in this article:...
I’m not so sure. While I haven’t been able to find out precisely, the discontinued Cellini line only had a 3 bar water resistance )indicating the possible absence of a screw down crown, and the new...
Ask Blancpain, Rolex, Oris, Omega, JLC etc ….
They choose to make them the way they do,
And it seems to work well for them.
:-)
That cam lock is very cool and very ingenious.
IIRC, the Italian Navy's frogmen during WWII and just before needed a water resistant watch for their operations (which never went below 100m)....
Let's put it in simpler terms.
Remember Todd saying something along the lines of "rare pistols are rare for a reason"?
It applies here.
None of the high end diver companies use a push pull...
And it was a push-pull crown?
Ouch.
10 bar most certainly should have handled that. I'm going to guess that the seals were used up.
Wait ... this Hamilton had a water resistance of ten bar and no screw down crown?

So today began Watches and Wonders; basically SHOT for watches.
Here is a sample (with some humor) of what’s new.

I should have added that a 5 atm watch with a screw down crown is a lot more water resistant than one without.

For what you describe, I'd say 5 atm and up. The more "up", the more security but no need to go over 10 atm.
Personally, If I was going to find myself on a boat that I could fall off or get pushed...

I need to work on the latter.
All true and I wanted to add: does it have to be a t-shirt? a polo shirt can be a bit looser/wider at the waist and so can a linen henley shirt. There are options in clothing if one just looks...
And that just made feel old.
;-)
You have two questions in your one.
One is about the gun itself.
The other is about you using and carrying the gun.
Answer the second first, then if that turns out positive, analyze the...
One's natural morphology (I think that's the appropriate term here) can make one angle better than an another.
In my case, time and arthritis have favored the Glock grip angle (and a more angled...
