FRS is not repeater capable (on transmit at least) and midland GXT1000 gmrs radios are also simplex only. But GMRS is still compatible with FRS on simplex channels.

My recommendation is to get yourself a set of repeater capable GMRS handhelds (wouxun are the best) to learn on from buy two way radios website, get your test-free license from the FCC for 10 yrs...

I was trying out various dns providers to see if any had performance or security benefits over the default isp. Quad9 seems peppy and with a privacy benefit.

Well through experimentation I discovered if I set my dns server on the router to googles default dns servers, this page gets blocked. So I switched to Quad9 and now I can get in.
