Lots of good responses here, but I think it was JHN(?) who hit the nail on the head: the market for revolvers just isn’t big enough to get much attention.
That’s pretty much across the board with...
In bear/moose country, I’d be packing something bigger. Probably a long gun.
In the brushy flatlands I roam, hogs & two legged critters are about the only threats. Of course there’s charging...
145 grain STHP.
Woods carry is a stiff charge of 4227 under the 158-grain SJHP.
The silver tips would likely fill this role too. But they’re too expensive to practice with.
BTW, “What’s In...
Exactly.
That bullet expanded to a whopping .75, which skewed the average. The other 4 had no significant expansion.
I stand corrected.
The results I referred to were 2”.
Looking at the raw average is still deceiving.
If you’re going by published tests, be sure to look at the details and not just the averages.
On Lucky Gunner, the Remington 158 LSWCHP +P shows a respectable average expansion of .54 from a 4”...
If that concerns you, there’s ammo using Barnes lead-free bullets.
I observed a test of a Buffalo Bore round fired into clear gel + 4 layers of denim from a Smith 642.
Performance was as good...
+P in longs?
Doh! BB = Buffalo Bore.
My cast-bullet brain was wondering if people were rolling their own “Bevel Base” wadcutters🙄
Looks like enough votes to call it for the humble Target Wadcutter.
Factory? Brand?
I go loaded with Federal GMM WCs with the Remington version of the FBI load in a speed strip.
I’m probably going to switch to Winchester 130-grain PDX1 for the reload. Me...
What’s in your cylinder?
What standard primers do you run in your wheelies? Non-magnum.
Shortly before the Covid panic hit, an LGS had a close out on Remington 5 1/2 small pistol primers.
I left with tens of...
Wait, what 5” half lug? Blued by chance???
I tried loading my cast .360 wadcutters as-cast, figuring that’s the same diameter as the factory HBWCs.
I learned that the uber-soft factory HBWCs are much more amenable to being squeezed...
So, it’s a rainy Saturday, good one to go pop some caps at the local indoor. Except I’m out of my .38 Special MGGB (Make Gun Go Bang) ammo.
Simple recipe: 2.7 grains of Clays an and a...
You mean like a Night Guard?
Or a steel frame with 3” tapered barrel.
The former is what I hoped the big SHOT show reveal would be.
JCN
Is that it for spinny announcements?
Plus, the vibe I pick up from everything I read/view about these Lipseys runs is their quality. Which makes sense, Lipseys doesn’t want to put their name on crap guns and demands better quality.

I have to admit the .32 is intriguing, but the last thing I need is another damned caliber.
Except for the fairly small amount of ammo for carry, the thought of buying factory ammo is positively...
Yawn.
Can the Texas Rangers repeat?
I’ve waited 52 years to say that!
I can’t really think of anything on my wish list. Ruger brings back the Security Six maybe?
Wow, didn’t know they produced any .41s in the NM flattop.
The .41 Freaks must’ve snapped them up😉
Are you sure it was a flattop and not just a 3-screw?
The original flattop (pre-64) was never made in .41 magnum, and I’m pretty sure the recent ones haven’t, either.
Seems a lot of good things...
Ouch!
