My GP100s trigger is nicer than my 92LTT.
That said, the trigger on a 92D is probably better than that. Very smooth.

Heathens, both of you :D
That's not to say I'd buy or own a Colt snake gun, but that's not because of how they look

I think the 92x compact is going to be my next gun purchase when they are available again. I sold my 92 compact and now somewhat regret that because that gun was far and away the most easy to shoot...
Jeez, My family lives in Arlington, and they've told me they're purposefully shutting down power in some areas to prevent worse blackouts or something.
That 6 fatality 135 car pileup that they...
If I'm not working, I am 100% in for this.
Love me some half guard.

Pretty much this is my thought.
There's basically a BJJ/MMA school on every corner it seems, and most of them are pretty capable of turning out some badass dudes. To say nothing of boxing gyms,...
These are all spot on IMO.
It all really depends on what people mean by "base gun" and whether that is a gun to send to a gunsmith or a no frills pistol with the basic stuff you want on it.
The...
The arm triangle was a surprise to me. Then again, maybe that's because so much of the arm triangle is trying to get it locked in.

If it can happen in IL, brother we can win the fight for gun rights anywhere.
There's a lot of new gun owners and if even a reasonable percentage votes in favor of gun rights, I believe we'll...
Just ask some of the white belts I've been training with who have been submitting me lol

Honestly, some friends with striking mitts, shinguards, and headgear and some boxing/kickboxing instructionals might be a solid choice. YouTube university is often snickered at, but it's made some...
I fail to see the problem there.

It really will depend on the instructor.
If they offer "freestyle" sparring (x amount of time continuously throwing punches, kicks, strikes and sweeps) you will be better off than if they're a...
I've been doing BJJ for the past 4 or 5 years but usually would go shooting on the days my academy has its striking class.
It's probably time to learn/study a lot more boxing/kickboxing. I...
To be fair...you don't look old AF ;)
Jits keeps you young. The guy I train with is 54 and he catches me in stuff all the time. He's got terrific strength, balance and a killer passing game. ...
Hate meter pegged.
An excellent fighting 1911 with a well respected history. You won't be disappointed in a gun like that.

Training with my friend in his basement has been a.) One of the primary drivers in my skill development over the last year or so.
And b.) One of the few things that kept me sane during the pandemic,...
Such churches do exist and are responsible for my entry into the medical field. My brother would have died at birth without the aid of a hospital, yet my church castigated my mother for seeking...
Especially this year, I've found it to be my year of focusing on martial arts.
Ammunition may be in short supply...but there is always something that is free.
These hands. :D

Certainly not a dumb answer Les Pepperoni
The ol "being too dumb to stop paying for classes and therefore I have to go or I lose that investment" ploy has probably turned out more than its share...
Yeah it was immensely difficult to install that damn rear sight in my gun.
But it's also incredibly durable.
I'm kinda jealous. Karate back in the 70s was certainly a different animal than what I learned as a kid.
I hope that it doesn't go that way too far for BJJ.

Be interested to hear what got all you fellow unarmed combatives guys into it. Did you come to it from the firearms hobby or did you come to the firearms hobby from your interest in martial arts?

That's about a word for word description of my competition gun. Springfield RO in .45 with a harrison fixed rear and a mag well. I prefer CMC magazines for a .45 but that's personal preference. ...
