The mainspring is significant because for some reason the standard LEM mainspring is...
I've got a 3" model 10 that I've been thinking of sending to him to rework the sights, get rid of the ribs on the trigger, convert to a round butt, and re-blue. He does excellent work.
I've not broken one down, but I suspect that important bits like shell stops are missing, the bolt is different, and I'm not sure that you can replace the trigger group with a standard trigger group...
If you aren't desperate, I'd skip it.
I don't see the magazines being reliable in the long term. And just searching right now I can only find one place that has the 3 round magazines in stock....
I don't know if it will ever come to market, but I had the chance to use a Marlin 1894 in .44 Magnum with a prototype Aridus CROM and it was a splendid little package. Lightweight, handy, easy to...
I meant extractor.
I've only seen a couple and they didn't run well in class.
Nope.
Just the consequences of dropping a partially loaded Wilson 9mm 1911 magazine. When it hit the ground there was enough physics going on to take the spring tension off the top round in the...
I had similar problems thanks to the bad batch of ejector springs, although the frequency wasn't as high on my gun.
Assuming you aren't using a recoil spring setup in the gun that it didn't come...
That's kind of where I ended up as well.
My Wilson CQB is a good gun, but the magazines were treacherous as all hell. Everything would be fine and then I'd need to do a reload during a...
When I see someone griping about using a timer, I'm inclined to think that they don't really understand what the tool is for. It's like someone telling me that this crescent wrench doesn't drive...
The most fundamental and beneficial thing you can learn to do with a handgun is learn how to draw to a good grip as quickly as possible.
That can also be done without a single shot fired...IF you...
I don't think people are going to be giving up the guns they've acquired during all this nonsense.
Hopefully one that doesn't break or spontaneously engage when the gun gets some wear like the mossberg safety.
Other things:
A good draw is not made on the range with live ammo. It's made through deliberate, careful dryfire practice. A good coach can give you pointers on the range, but you have to burn...
With a DA/SA gun, you are always going to need more discipline when firing that first shot. Even with a very nice DA trigger like the one you can get on a Langdon Beretta, you will need extra care on...
Breakin would be my guess. I've personally fired about a case of 00 8 pellet low-recoil FFC through my 1301 shotguns with no issues...but I didn't shoot flight control through them until after I'd...
That's what I use.
I don't doubt you.
I also don't doubt that Cirillo is one of those figures who brought a lot of wisdom from prior ages forward because in this business we tend to lose the lessons people learned...
For clarity, I'm talking about the J frames with wadcutters. Once you get up to 3" the .38 rounds with JHP start to perform.
Performance of .357 magnum out of snubs is better, but the recoil is...

A look at some JHP rounds Chuck Haggard fired at the recent Revolver Roundup in his 4 layers of denim test. Note that you don't really see expansion. Most of them penetrated adequately....
While we're on the topic of terminal ballistics and revolvers, we would be remiss if we didn't listen to Bob Stasch:
https://youtu.be/Yd3v_fssabI
Especially his account of engaging a perp...
Best I remember, Cirillo spent a fair bit of time trying to get better terminal ballistics himself in the pre-Miami days. A lot of the accomplished gunmen who wrote seemed to express a feeling of...
It's an interesting question, the .38.
A lot of bad people have been killed by .38 spl LRN bullets. If we go back in time and take a hard look at what the most accomplished gunmen of the pre-WWII...
It is.
LTT's grips and the relief cut in the back of the newer frames help with that a good bit.
