I would genuinely help fund 2,000-round tests by SMEs or reliable board members on a regular basis.

I'm in for $10-20 to help sponsor vetted/expert PFers wring out industry question marks. I mean, if not some of the folks here who either already do this stuff, or who have scary shooter resumes in general, then who? I'd take a P-F review on all this new stuff coming out over any mainstream media source. JMO, but I'm sure I'm not alone on this.
Hell I'd throw 10 or 20 bucks on a SME vetting a pistol from time to time.
The most recent Guns & Ammo has a 1,250 round test of the Remington RP 9mm. Cliff notes are:
~No malfunctions through the 1,250 round test
~Smallest 5 shot group size @ 25Y was with Winchester PDX1 147gr: 1.4". 95% of the 5-shot loads hovered in the 1.5" - 2.25" range.
~18 round 9mm magazine and serialized steel chassis ala the P320
~6 pound trigger pull via a Lyman gauge. Same pull weight before and after the 1,250 rounds fired
~PVD coated slide
~Slight beveling of firing pin hole caused some bulging primers
~Extractor claw measured over 1/4"; MIM part with black oxide finish
~Spent cases ejected 3-4' to the rear into a small pile
Other than that I didn't read any earth shattering differences regarding the RP compared to the saturated striker fired market. I'll remain objective for now, but unless you're a major Remington fanboy I don't see the draw to this particular pistol compared to other striker fired guns on the market. YMMV.
I'd like to shoot 10,000 rounds of Lawman and Gold Dot thru one.

What the hell? I have never heard of this gun and sort of wish I hadn't...
