Winchester Super X-1. My Dad had it passed to him recently and the bolt buffer went to peices while playing crazy quail. It went down on the line. I got it running well enough to play a second game, and now it's home for cleaning. Needs a new buffer.

My long-term project 870 build is finally getting there and I've been spending some range time with it. Push-pull and managing the safety are new and taking some work, but today saw some real progress.
I ended up going with these sights: https://fusionfirearms.com/fiber-opt...ibs-6mm-to-8mm
Assuming they survive (so far so good), I'll probably stick with them. I really appreciate the lower profile compared to other clamp-on options, which keeps the natural eye-drawing benefits of the vent rib.
It needs a side saddle setup and, eventually, a trip to Wilson for the Remington Steal service, if only to get a Flextab kit in it (and fix this mismatched blued receiver/black painted barrel nonsense). For now, I'm just going to shoot it a lot. It's an old gun that's sat around a lot more than it's been used.

When I did my Mossberg Breacher tac,
I used these.
Simple solution, and having several different tiles allows you to carry, buck, slugs, etc.

Aimsurplus has used 14" rifle-sighted 870 barrels for $130 so I grabbed one and got myself a Tac-14. The A2 grip is just what I had laying around. I think a Magpul grip is in order along with a +1 tube extension and dome head safety. If I really get to liking this thing I'll spring for a Surefire fore end but the engine in my truck took a shit on my way back from picking up the Tac-14 so might be a minute before I do that.
