This site has hundreds of tests and evaluations which are very valuable; well run by “Mr. White”. I would always recommend class(es) from Gunsite to Rogers to any of the capable people mentioned here, to include White, Givens, etc.

I completely got what you are saying. However, I am trying to draw on shooters experience, and establish something that someone can look at and say I have some time let’s do it. I get all the training and places to go. I am trying to consolidate 10 great drills Johnnie can look at and say I got some time I can do 5 of them and make good use of my time this week!

I do the following when I only have one hour. Uses 120 rounds. All I needed is a TxT target and a print out target for the 26662 drill and Mini-Presidente drill and 7 fully loaded G17 mags +1 round.

1) Gabe White's Split Bill Drill (cold), 6 shots.
2) The first 30 rounds of Jody H's 99 Drill, 30 rounds.
3) 26662 Drill, 25 rounds
4) Mini-Presidente, 12 rounds
4) Casino Drill, 21 rounds
5) FAST Drill, 6 rounds.

This is what I want to improve: speed of presentation; good first shots on target; switching targets; occasional reloads; and a test of measure all of that (FAST).

I’d recommend failure drills at varying distances, say as close as 3 yards and on out to at least 10 yards. Preferably further.

The HiTS Super Test is a great evaluation. So is their Revolver Super Test and Snub Super Test.

Two more from HiTS team, their two second standards part 1 and part 2 (both can be found in the Drill of the Week section here in PF). I’ve spent a lot of time on the range working part two, burning ammo 2 seconds at a time.

El Presidente is a classic for a good reason. I don’t think any list of ten great drills would be complete without it and the Bill Drill.

The Gabe White Standards is another awesome evaluation. A person could get in a pretty good day of training by running that one cold and then practicing whatever stage or stages you struggled on for the rest of the hour.

For the 10th one, I’d probably pick a qual. Either the LAPD D-Platoon qual, the latest FBI qual, one of Tom Givens Rangemaster quals, something like that. Picking one of those and using it as a way to track long term performance gains should be very beneficial. Hopefully motivational too.

Ben Stoeger Doubles.

Shoot pairs at your limit speed keeping all in the "A" box.If you have a timer, pause a second between pairs.

Stoeger shoots tens of thousands of rounds a year on that.

Good one for perfecting grip, trigger pull and sight tracking. Since your repeating the same task, you can shift your focus between those three sub-skills in the same

magazine.

You may have a few drills you do when you go to the range. Bill Drill, Fast, El Presidente are all good drills, but what do you do and why. If you had an hour, and had 10 drills to run twice what are they? How many targets? Distance? Rounds?
10 Drills run twice one hour. What is the best to retain or improve skills of an experienced shooter.
