Anyone know anything about this? Am new to buying these, this sounds too good to be true - whats the catch?

I got a free 9mm can last time they ran the deal with the purchase of a .30 cal can, just had to pay for the stamp... I got mine pretty quickly from silencerco as not too many opted for the 9mm freebie. The dudes that opted for the .45 cal cans ended up waiting for them to comw in to tbe shops for a hot minute. And due to that couldn't start paperwork on those cans until they arrived. That ended up being a little bit of a shit show for my buddies shop so this time around they are not advertising this deal, they pushed it big last time... They will transfer any cans that people buy through it though...

This is going to force me to consider a .30 cal. can. Any suggestions? It would likely be hosted on DD5V5 in 6.5

I've been tempted by the Warlock previously, and can't think of a reason not to do this.

This might be the way I can get a pair of suppressors - one mostly for 5.56 and similar, and one for 9mm. I need to stop by my local store and see what they suggest, I’m clueless.

Last time they ran this I bought a Hybrid 46 and got a free Octane 45. The stamp for the 46 took 11 months to come back and the Octane came in the same day. The stamp for the Octane came back in 87 days, amazingly enough. I'm thinking about picking up a 36M and Octane 9 this time around. I use the Octane on my .22 HK 416 replica and it's stupid quiet with subsonic. I think it's impressively quiet with 9mm but very gassy.

I took advantage of the deal to purchase an Omega 300 - I'm just torn on which Octane to get... 9 or 45?

The 9 is lighter and shorter, and according to SiCo, quieter with 9mm and 300blk subs. The 45 is heavier, longer, and theoretically more versatile. I've got a 1911 in the back of the safe (and long-term plans for another), but primarily shoot 9mm Glocks.

Does anyone have experience with Octane 45 on 9mm pistols?

If it matters to you, the Warlock is only rated for 22lr (not magnum, or other rimfires). I believe the baffles are aluminum. But hey, free is free.

I’m ok with that - it would live on .22LR only. And free (well, $200) is a pretty good deal.

I got the Octane 45 because I still have one 40, although I still haven't gotten a threaded barrel for that one. I run the 45 on my 229s, MR920, 320, and USPC9 and to my ear it's pretty quiet. I've shot subsonic 9 in my back yard with no hearing protection and had no issue. That being said, I don't know what I don't know because I've only ever shot my Hybrid 46 on the same guns so I can't compare it to an Octane 9. Subjectively, I think it's quieter than the Hybrid 46 on my 9" MCX 300 with subsonic, even though I think SiCo's published numbers show lower dB on the 300.

This may be a dumb question. Can I buy both cans as a promotion, then set up the trust afterward? Or does an nfa trust have to be setup beforehand? I just found out about this promotion.

Nevermind. My FFL told me that I could purchase them setup the trust and proper filing of paperwork afterwards.

The logic side of me says I will use a .22 can more.
But the financial side of me says a free can should be used to get the most expensive bang for my buck, and go .45 can…

Shit. I may be getting a .45 can.

I talked to someone that spoke with a SilencerCo Rep. (I know, I know, but it’s the best I’ve got), and he said that they were not planning to run the promotion this year. Something about already having so many orders to fill on just regular sales.
