Thank You pistol-forum.com, Tom Jones and "shit" mods
What an oasis in a largely bleak desert of bullshit this site provides.
I've recently had to walk away from a couple of regional firearms forums from just a general and pervasive sense of dissatisfaction. On one site the membership was actually pretty good, but the administration of the site was totalitarian in its methods and non-supportive of the values most have come to cherish and value within a community established for the interchange of information and ideas.
The other site seems to have grown too quickly, become unwieldy and is populated by opinions perhaps best characterized as parochial, backward and often unsupported by facts. The management may be playing catch-up but seems more intent on growing its numbers than steering the ship.
And then there is pistol-forum which stands alone, head and shoulders, (imho), above the throng.
Sure, we have our disagreements. (I may or may not have been involved in one or two. ;))...but disputes aside, the level of knowledge, experience and diversity of backgrounds and professions make this a unique venue and by far my favorite site of its kind.
I just want to thank Tom, the "shit" mods and the membership for making this site the fantastic repository of information and collegiality it is.
