SD Practice Target(s)?
I recently committed to more SD-oriented practice and bought some silhouette targets. Most of my practice is competition oriented with my 9mm 1911 and steel targets, but my SD gun is a 9mm HK P2000. I'm finding the sights are extremely difficult to pick up at any speed against these black targets. I'm looking for suggestions for a paper target that will serve my training needs. I have Meprolight sights on the HK which work well at night, but don't have a very distinct white ring thus the alignment challenge.
As qualification targets I now understand that these targets test for the worst case. Can you put 80-90% of the rounds at speed, at distance within the 8 ring (for example), but they don't appear to be suitable for general training purposes. Any and all suggestions appreciated.

http://pistol-training.com/drills has a ton of printable targets, most with white aiming areas to use. It even comes with drills that match or you can use your own.
There are also many trainers here who developed their own targets.

Here is how a similar thread ended: https://pistol-forum.com/showthread.php?4597-Targets:
Rob_S: Given that we cannot predict how an attacker may present themselves to us, should we not simply train to use the tool to the best of our ability (I.e. Small groups at speed) and then explain the anatomy and physiology of what we are really aiming at?
Awerbuck, in my limited civilian non-LE experience, explained it best and can be summarized as shooting for a golf ball buried in the head and a softball buried in the chest, and he then goes on to explain what that means and index points on the body when the attacker plenty anything other than a squared-up posture.

While I am fond of various "trainer" targets ( particularly those of Tom Givens),I have also found that simple is often best. 3/5 notecards, standard paper plates, 8.5 x11 sheets of paper (folded 4.5 by 11 as well) and brown "butcher block" paper w 4.5 inch sharpies circles made with an old CDs all generate quality targets.
