Yeah my first experience was reasonably good, got a replacement unit in about 10 days. Still a PITA...

Thank you for the informative reply!
I've made good experiences with torque wrenches, have lots of them, also for small torque values. I suppose an appropriate little torque wrench helps with the bottom mounted battery. But I don't have an RMR, don't know yet. A precondition would be of course that Trijicon specifies the correct torque value.
They do specify 12 in/lb of torque, IIRC. Battery life at least should be pretty decent.
Part of the reason I got a mix of Holosuns/RMRs was that while RMRs may be more reliable out of the box, the holosun equipped optics shouldn't have an issue with zero shift every time I change the battery, so my reasoning was I could save money by equipping backup pistols with the Holosuns and use them for CCW after a battery change in the RMR when the loctite is still curing/haven't had the chance to confirm zero yet.
My wife loves when I make a quick stop on the way home.

Finally got this project done. Sent the slide to @CHPWS for an RMR cut. Got it back today and switched everything over from the AIM Surplus slide.

My old-is-new CCW Glock 19. First Glock I ever bought, now fresh back from Maple Leaf Firearms.
Pretty darn busy these days but I get a week off just before my birthday in early september, will zero this then.
