My go to load for the last 15 years has been 9gr unique under a 255gr swc or 18gr 2400 under 250gr xtp so I'm not looking for barn burners.
Factory loads in .45 Colt have been assembled with Bullseye for over 100 years.
You don't say what revolver you are shooting these in, but the factory load is approximated with 6.5 grains of Bullseye with a 250-grain or 6.0 grains with a 255 grain lead conical or semi-wadcutter. In a modern Colt clone by Uberti or Pietta and any of the Rugers you can safely exceed the SAAMI MAP of 14,000 psi to approximate .45 ACP pressures and increase the charge to 7.5 grains of Bullseye with any bullet from 200-275 grains.
For general use I like 7 grains of Bullseye with Accurate 45-246H. Getting 1000 rounds for a pound of powder has a nice ring to it.
TiteGroup can be substituted at the same charge levels for similar results.

I've found Titegroup available.
I use 6.2gr under a 250gr LRN for cowboy shooting. 881 fps. Max oal 1.59-1.60
5.0gr under 250gr LRN runs at 716fps. These are shot out of a five inch Ruger Vaquero.
Shoots clean and consistant.
I've used W231 and SR4756 but found them to be somewhat dirty in .45 colt.
My favorite .45 colt load is 38gr (by weight) 2f Goex black powder under a 250gr soft lead RN. Boom rather than bang.
It's dirty but it smells good.
Just bought a Mountain Gun so I'm looking to feed mostly that but I also have a 4 5/8" Blackhawk and a 16" m92. Hence the slower powders for a good gp load for a carbine.Quote:

Congratulations on finding a .45 Colt Mountain Gun! My .44 Mag MG is my only remaining S&W and it’s going to stay in my collection till someone starts shoveling dirt on me.
Alliant has no data for BE86 for .45 Colt on their website, nor does Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook 4th Edition 2010. Maybe a more recent reference is out there somewhere?
