Sometimes we watch Amazon Prime or go get a Redbox offering, or occasionally out to the theater to see a movie.
Just wondering, what have you seen lately on TV or at the movies?
Did you like it?

Last movie I saw at a theater was "Braveheart". We don't go to the theater much. Good movie. We don't watch much TV either. :)
"No Escape" with Owen Wilson & Lake Bell. A very good movie which had me on the edge of my seat several times.
Mr. Robot is the newest show I've seen, pretty edgy and new-age but lots of interesting, psychological stuff.
Last good action show was Person of Interest - might fit the "action show" niche that some people like.
If you guys have not seen The Americans, I'd highly recommend it.
Edit; just to add, if you are into space/sci-fi but realistic stuff - Gravity with Sandra Bullock is pretty good.
We watched Tarantino's "Django Unchained" using Netflix streaming on the recommendation of our son-in-law.
By my standards it was too long, and at times it seemed like it'd never end.
In many ways it was cartoonish and of course very violent as well as occasionally funny. If you like to hear the N word a lot, this is the flick for you!!
Overall we were glad we watched it, but I certainly wouldn't want to see it again.
It's a bit silly sometimes, but I enjoyed the first season of SyFy's "Killjoys." It's not on the same level as Farscape or Firefly, but it's fun.
Regarding Gravity, I have to disagree with voodoo_man; I found it to be slow and very difficult to believe. Of course, the believability was probably harmed by the fact that my wife has some knowledge in that area and pointed out a lot of the flaws. Same deal as watching a movie including incorrect gun stuff with just about anyone who frequents this forum, I suppose. Even putting that aside, however, it still felt slow. YMMV, of course.
Last TV show watched was True Detective, season 2. Highly recommend.
Last movie in theater was Mad Max: Fury Road. Also highly recommend.
Watched Bosch on Prime this week and loved it, and watched Mad Max Fury Road on BluRay yesterday and loved it as well.
Just finished season 2 of Stikeback on Amazon prime. I am disappointed season 3 appears to be pay only.
eta, the Hercules movie with the (c)Rock in it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
The last thing I was completely engrossed by was "Generation War". The best war drama ever filmed, surpassing even "Saving Private Ryan" (which I thought would never happen). Just make sure you have six hours to finish the entire thing, or you'll be up late.
Can't go wrong with "Downton Abbey". It's basically a trashy TV soap opera that's dripped in so much class it doesn't feel juvenile.
"Gravity" is a coin toss that you'll either love, or hate. It's worth watching just to hear what all the fuss is about. If you're intimately familiar with orbital mechanics, it'll probably just irritate you, but its special effects are like... whoa.
Oh, I'll add "August Eighth". It's a Michael Bay-style Russian action movie about the invasion of South Ossetia. The robots have nothing to do with the plot, and are just the kid's way of abstracting trauma (you'll think you're watching the wrong movie for the first ten minutes, so just stick with it). Lots of Russian equipment to ogle, and impossibly good looking leads.
Pitch Perfect 2 and it was awesome.

While I usually have graphic realistic violence as a prerequisite for entertainment, I find myself looking forward to new episodes of PBS's Vicious and Starz's Blunt Talk. There's just something amusing about Gandalf doing gay snark(NWS) and Jean Luc Picard dropping F-bombs while Data plays the piano.
Mr. Robot. It's pretty awesome. Some very strong acting by the lead.

TV: Ray Donovan, Halt and Catch Fire, True Detective s2. Bosch was also pretty good.
Movies: Fury Road was the last one we saw in theatre; worth it. It Follows was a pretty good flick, as far as scary movies go. Watched the Gunman a few weeks ago; didn't hate it, but it's too far past for me to remember what I really like about it...

Watched a few of Christopher Guest's comedies this weekend- "Best in Show", "Waiting for Guffman", and "A Mighty Wind"- which is basically "Spinal Tap" with folk music.
I've been binge watching Amy Schumer's show. That is some filthy, funny stuff.
Been watching Vikings on Amazon Prime. It's obviously a show about vikings, so that either intrigues ya or it doesn't, but it's pretty damned good. Been trying to get caught up with Sons of Anarchy but I keep getting distracted. Nyeti recommended Bosch, also on Prime, I really liked it. On Netflix, which I don't have, House of Cards is great.
I don't really go see movies anymore, last one was Jurassic World. Not great but I enjoyed i, as a longtime fan of the franchise.
ETA: Orphan Black, First couple seaons are also on Prime and they're great.
We've been watching True Detective season 1 and Tyrant season 2. Both are good.
I just finished the first season of "Narcos" on Netflix and really enjoyed it.
Ray Donovan continues to be very good. True Detective lost me a few weeks ago. Hell On Wheels is not bad this season, seems to be getting better.
I like Narcos too, but a lot of subtitles.
I've been watching Person of Interest on Netflix this weekend, really enjoying it.

A friend inveigled me to watch True Detective 1 and 2. Kind of weird but hey, it gets me Dinner and a Movie.
I gotta play catchup on Hell On Wheels.
I think the last theatrical movie I saw was Hobbit 3. Yawn.
The next theatrical movie I see will likely be The Martian. Andy Weir's first book and it is a best seller, #11 on Kindle, #1 in Amazon SF; now gone for a movie.
I pointed out several flaws in Gravity but there there some really cool scenes, definitely a good warming up moving to something like Interstellar which I really enjoyed.
Not sure how I forgot to mention that one. Definitely enjoyable, and even after 30 episodes, there's still a lot that you're waiting to find out. Assuming the quality stays high, I think there's a lot more story left to tell there. The only real criticism I have is that the gay characters in the show tend toward stereotype/caricature status. That said, the most flamboyant of them still manages to be an engaging and interesting character, so it kind of doesn't matter.
I'm currently watching Season 2 of the Last Ship on XBOX on-Demand... worth of every bit of the $2 and change per episode...
I am generally overly analytical and can't enjoy most new shoes. Too many either try to make women act like men, throw in one liners about how leftism is better, go over the top with nudity and cursing ( hey I like em and all but must it be in everything????), or the portray the good guys as only kind of good and that maybe the evil really are not so evil.
That said lol......even though I am extremely picky, I thought Narcos on Netflix was excellent. As well as Turn from A&E. I can't wait to watch the second season of both when the arrive on Netflix.
Fear the Walking Dead has my attention at the moment.

Wife and kids were gone all weekend so it was a movie fest at nighttime.
Another vote for Narcos and while your on Netflix, watch Blue Ruin and the show, Bloodlines; both were very good to me.

Good to know. I'm put the stupid part on ignore.
I just saw San Andreas this weekend. Was not impressed.
I've been rewatching X-Files on Prime in anticipation of the new season. Seen it all before, of course, but halfway into season 2 now and I'll say that when it's good, it's GOOD (Beyond the Sea and One Breath are my favorites so far) but a lot of the episodes are silly filler.
I was younger when X-Files originally aired, but I am halfway through season 2 as well. And yeah, when it's good, its great!
Rented Inside Out last night with my wife, hated it. She liked Sicario a lot more.
This evening I finally saw the entire Top Gear "Patagonia Special". I am now convinced that the whole license plate thing was inadvertent, and even if it wasn't, the Argies are assholes.
I though Bridge of Spies was a snorefest.
Watched "Patriot" on Amazon last night and thought it was terrific.
