Tenon front sights suck. Wide tenons suck slightly less than narrow tenons. I would second the recommendation of a little JB Weld, with a reminder to properly clean the mating surfaces prior to application. If you ever need to take it off you can hit it with a torch.

The larger and therefore heavier a staked on front sight is, the higher the likelihood that it will come off during shooting. I think that Colt 1911 front sight holes and factory tenons were more compatible in shape meaning that the fit was better before staking process began.

For staked sights, I definitely like silver solder.
