Lt. Col, actually. A great man who was denied his 7th Olympic Games appearance due to Jimmy Carter’s boycott. One could have expected an 8th appearance in 1984 were it not for his severe injuries suffered in a training accident when he was hit by two .357 magnum rounds fired by a trainee deputy in San Diego.
