A bunch of us just bought fixed rear sights for S&W revolvers from CDNN. I know that I'm not the only one looking for a home for the ones that I bought.

Several times.
At least three ARs that started as a random part - once a perfectly good 20” fluted barrel, another time a no bump A1 upper, and the extreme case of a spare Magpul pistol grip and handguard.
It kinda just happened again. I have a LPVO I picked up for a MCX upper, but it proved to be too large and unwieldy for that little gun. So I bought a more proportional rifle for it, a SIG 716i that’s on the way. It’s my 60th birthday tomorrow, and that’s my justification.
I think ammo should count more than accessories. Accessories can easily be sold and shipped all over. Ammo is a pain is the rear to sell and shipping is cost prohibitive. Selling reloads will land you in the gulag if you don't have a license. I reckon you needed a .44 and your father helped you along. Well done!😁
I keep pining for a railed Dan Wesson Specialist or Springfield Operator because I somehow ended up with a new Safariland drop holster for a railed 1911 with an X300.
Free $150 holster = buy a $1700 1911 and a $250 light.... that makes sense, right?
In the past I've bought guns because I had a stash of ammo in a caliber I didn't currently have a gun for, but not accessories.
Before the >10 rd. mag sale ban in my state took effect in July, I considered buying magazines for guns I *might* want to own in the future, but decided against it. I have a very ample supply of Glock and AR mags, and guns to feed with them. If something doesn't take these mags, I won't be buying it, unless I buy a place in another state.
As part of a trade I got 5 USP 45 Full Size 10 round magazines. A couple years later a USP Expert .45 came home.
A couple years after that, I traded those 10 round magazines straight across for 13 rounders. My LGS had a trade-in USP with LE mags (I’m in a ban state). I got the full cap mags, and they could sell the gun with mags included.

I found a set of used Redding 300 Whisper dies that turned into a 7.62x35 Rimmed G2 Contender with a high grade walnut Bullberry stock set and a SilencerCo 36M. It is my favorite rifle to shoot. It has put down several yard coyotes this year.

I once bought an AR-15 BCG when SOLGW was still selling them for less than $120 regularly. Somehow, that turned into me building a complete rifle. I ended up selling thst one to a coworker at my old PD. I believe he still uses it as a patrol rifle. The suppressed AR pistol I currently own started life as an SB Tactical SBA3 brace. I bought the brace used from someone on this forum for $65. So far it has cost me about $2100.
ETA: my favorite part about this is that, once I spend an additional $200 and SBR the AR pistol, then i wont need the brace that started the build at all anymore.
Oyea. Buying Glocks because I happen to have a gadget for one is a thing. Most recently another 42. I’ll probably end up with a G26.5 here pretty quick, because: holsters, spare magazines (and an extra gen 5 gadget). I’m *sort of* on the hunt for a Colt Gov’t .380 because I have some magazines for one laying around… and I have no idea why I have the magazines. They’ve been in the parts bin for decades.
