Their used to be one like that hanging on the wall of a restaurant on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge years ago. It had a beautiful myrtle wood stock.
Cripple stock, as mentioned. Also sometimes used on rifles. I've never seen one in person, only in old gun books.

It's weird and reminds me I'm glad to be a righty who is right eye dominant.
