This is from the Rangemaster December 2020 newsletter, found here. Both Tom Givens and Karl Rehn have shot 199s.

Baseline Skills Assessment Drill

Use a B-8 repair center, FBI-IP-1 bullseye, or the bullseye on an LTT-1
target, scored as printed. This drill is intended to be shot cold, from
concealed carry.

5 yards Draw and fire 5 rounds in 5 seconds, using both hands.

5 yards Start gun in hand, at Ready, in dominant hand only. Fire 3 rounds
in 3 seconds.

5 yards Start gun in hand, at Ready, in non-dominant hand only. Fire 2
rounds in 3 seconds.

7 yards Start gun in hand, loaded with 3 rounds only. Fire 3 rounds,
conduct an empty gun reload, and fire 3 more rounds, all in 10 seconds.

10 yards Start gun in hand, at Ready. Fire 4 rounds in 4 seconds.

20 rounds total. Possible score = 200

185. I pulled three of the four shots in the white after the reload, got a bad grip. Well and thoroughly screwed that pooch all by myself, shows something I need to work on.

M&P45 1.0 mid-size, irons, 230-grain RNL handloads.

Last evaluation of this “interesting” year. Shot as directed, cold from concealment: 196 points. Points lost were basically with the single hand shootings and one “crunched”@10 yards off the bull. GEN519MOS w/ACRO out of JMCK OWB from under a fleece vest.
I think Tom Givens put this up last January (seems so long ago). I recall shooting a 195, so as the pilots say,”positive climb rate”!

183. I suck. Glock 48 with AE 115. This is from low ready, since my range doesn't allow draws, and I flubbed the reload part; plus, times were approximated. Betcha can't tell I'm left handed and shoot a Glock. :cool:

You’re too hard on yourself Rich. That’s a solid run. It’s an assessment after all. As an outside observer it looks like maybe your grip pressure is changing a little bit as you break the shot. I have to really focus on keeping pressure into the heals of my hands when I run Glocks. If not my weak hand changes grip pressure through the trigger press and I throw shots everywhere.

Ha! Stupid second weak hand shot.

198 points with a competition gun in 40SW.

I like testing to see how much equipment matters for these standards.

I always wind up giving up performance when carrying a micro 9mm, but try and keep training to objective standards.
