The joke in my previous post is from Loriot. Most Germans, from children to grandparents, find Loriot very funny.
There is Loriot cartoon with a duck. A man in a hotel room finds another man in his bathtub. Then they both take a bath. Both are serious and polite (and don't seem to be gay). But as one man wants to take his rubber duck into the water, the other man says very determined: "The duck stays outside!"
Now sometimes people put rubber ducks on Loriot's grave. People here liked him very much. It's a last greeting.
