Waiting on a Form 3 to my dealer from SilencerCo on a Saker 7.62 and a Form 4 on a Spectre II from my dealer.
I am waiting on Illinois to join the 21st century and allow NFA. :p
I win! Only 54 more months until I leave this place and move someplace where NFA is allowed.
To be fair, you can get an SBR now if you are an 03 FFL or member of a "reenactment group". I keep waiting for "Jim-Bob's Short Barrel Rifle Reenactors" to form.
Just an FYI - not sure if it's been posted here yet -
SilencerCo will be announcing more of the details of their Mil/LEO/FD "Blue Label" program shortly.
Allegedly 50% of MSRP
To stay on topic - just got my Griffin M4SD II 5.56 can a couple weeks ago.
SilencerCo Spectre II is on a Form 3
Trying to stop myself from ordering. Griffin Revolution 9 but I know I'm going to cave in and order it in a week or so....

I have an AAC SR7 pending on a form 4 since Thanksgiving. I've forgotten about it until this thread...thanks.
The deer won't know what hit them.
Apparently the Sig brace thread has morphed into the NFA thread.
At least I have visitation rights until the jail break.
Form4 is down till further notice. ETA E-form Form4 is down, they are reworking the system to "better" serve the fiefdoms.
Form1 has been reported to be 25-35 days E-form.
So 6-7 months by conventional submission versus about a month by e form?
Can a trust also do a form 1 by e-submission?
Yes sir.
BTW Form4 have been reported to be down to 4-5 months, my shop has stated they have seen them back on paper submission as fast as 3.5 months (quickest amongst their customers).
This is reported to be an excellent source for step by step directions....with pictures/screen shots....E-form

My last successful e-form came through in 2 months. Then the whole system went down while I had 2 cans in jail. I waited several months, and then on the advice of the dealer, switched to paper forms. It took nearly a year total :-(
From what I've heard, the e-forms are going through really fast now.
The blog at Gun Trust Lawyer is a decent site for NFA news. http://www.guntrustlawyer.com/
Waiting on a 9mm GemTech multi-mount, SilencerCo .45 Octane, and a Military Armament Corporation 10.
I spread them out, every couple of months or so........that way they are clearing every 10-18 weeks, and makes waiting on shit less painful. Or buy a bunch several weeks before heading out the door for deployment. Come home to NFA Christmas!
Exactly.
Form 4s are paper only right now.
Form 1s are paper or E File. However, E File Requires submission via Trust.
ATF sent an email out a couple weeks ago saying that they are expecting E File for Form 4s to be back up late 2015 (So figure 2016).
They have added some contract employees that have cut the times way down.
E File Form 1s in ~30-45 days
Paper Form 3s in ~1.5-2 months
Paper Form 4s in ~3-4 months
It seems like those times are getting even better lately.
If anyone is on the fence regarding Class 3 stuff, now is the time to jump in. Get a Trust and get going!

For the "uninitiated"; there are different examiners. Sometimes there can be a slight discrepancy.
However, considering we're talking weeks versus months or years; this is lightning fast.
My SBR between Form 3 and then subsequently Form 4. Took about 14-15 months by comparison to 45-60 days.
ETA: That was also during the madness post sandy hook.
Waiting on a Form 3 to clear on an AAC Ti-Rant 9 that I purchased on 12/31 (just under the wire for the 'Damn the Man!' promotion).
Some good news- a TX legislator just introduced a " shall certify bill

Certainly anything is possible. I agree. It's good, like I said.
If 41P gets authorized who knows how it would be implemented? Would existing Trusts have to get CLEO signatures? I've read every possible scenario and it always ends with "well, they can amend it to say whatever they want, so....."
I really like the Trust for the other benefits, mostly regarding the use of items by any Trustee named in the Trust.
I would choose a Trust regardless of 41P going through or not. As a bonus, Trusts don't require you to get a CLEO signature (currently). That's all I was saying.
Best

Form 1 SBR submitted last night.....guessing 40 days.
I'm at 34 days (and counting) on a Form 1 E File.
My 22 can from Silencer Shop was purchased 12/26. Form 3 (Trust) approved 2/15 and it has been sent to the FFL in Fredericksburg - 51 days.
Hopefully Form 4 (Trust) gets approved in May.
Per Silencer Shop times are actually getting better on paper Trust 4s. They've had some Trust 4s get approved in 65 days!

That's great, I'm running up to Austin to see what in stock at Silencer Shop and to check out the Omega. SLG mentioned thunderbeast in another thread, I saw a super small .30 suppressor with qd mount I want to see as well.

Yep. I'm pretty happy so far. Perhaps 4 months from manufacturer to FFL to me.
It's a far cry from my Form 1 and Form 4 (both paper Trusts) last year.
Both were submitted in February 2014. Form 1 SBR was approved in September and 5.56 suppressor was approved in late December!
I guess a 9mm can is next..... :-)

Picked up one, dropped paper on another..........dropping a few stacks of paper on others still.......... such is the burden of not being on suppressor welfare.
