So no manual brightness option ?

Well.....damn.
I’ll definitely be buying a couple of these. I’m pretty excited about this one.
Holosun is absolutely killing it.
Cool optic.
FYI I punched out a QRC for it.

Sig's new enclosed optic (I think DPP as well? Whatever the new Army pistols are) has to be mounted by screws from the bottom of the slide. Presumably this holosun uses screws mounting from the top, and will therefore work with any DPP plate?
Poor Leupold. They were too slow to keep pace with the state of the art: a closed emitter, low profile optic. I really hope they see the writing on the wall and kick their R&D into high gear.
And, as much as I like the innovative hard working folks at Sig EO, they seem to be constantly behind Holosun's curve.
I expect robust tariffs for China asshoe to be a feature of the next four years, presuming either the dems or populists are in charge. That might level the playing field a little, but even 20% probably won’t catch up small US and Swedish makers.
I have a couple of Holosuns too, so fully hypocritical here, but remember that they’re the product of a state-sponsored industrial espionage machine. They got where they are by stealing their way there, and the industry as a whole would be a lot better off if they didn’t exist.
Practical question.
I like Holosun dots a lot. However, being a competitor, I can see what optics are used in the competition world meaning a lot of rounds. I personally shot 20K trough Romeo3Max before breaking the battery tray from overtightening the screw. The dot still worked but SIG replaced it with a brand new anyways. People around me are getting 30K+ with their SIG R3M, 1Pro, and Trijicon SRO easily. I do not see many people (if any) shooting Holosun dots in competition. And frankly, I do not know how durable they are. Does anybody have any experience? Is shooting a few thousand rounds and calling it good enough?
I too would be happy to "buy American" but honestly, Trijicon is their own worst enemy.
Their 2020 offering for the emerging skinny 9mm market was the RMRcc, with a proprietary mount. When the P365XL was released in 2019. Go figure. And at $699, with a bottom loading battery? They've had years to come out with a K-series, direct mount sight with a side-loading tray, but have chosen for whatever reason not to do so. So what *did* they do? Oh yeah, they sued Holosun. For the placement of the buttons. Are you kidding me.
At least Holosun is listening to the market, and delivering, annually, exciting new products that push the envelope of pistol mounted optics.
I hope their ears are burning at Trijicon HQ right now.
Sorry for rant. It just cheeses me off that an American company can't seem to get off their collective engineering butts and design a competitive product, because Holosun is killing them.
Just checked the equipment survey for 2022, in CO, looks like about 5%, max, using Holosun in CO at Nationals, if I understand the charts right:

I just checked the 2021 annual; Holosun is not even listed as one of the selections on the breakdown by percentage.
It's a great question. Holosuns have done well in various tests, and I have around 3k on one 509t2, and about half that on another. I'm using the 509t2 ACSS on a S2 for rainy weather, but would much rather have a larger window.
My 3 Romeo 1's all broke at around 1-2k.
That's good to hear that your Max is so durable because other than the SRO, it's the only other large competition-oriented optic--until now.
Maybe the the reason so many USPSA CO shooters use the SRO / Max at Nationals is the larger window?
Down in Gen pop, with the other D/C shooters, the mix of optics I notice at the few matches I've been in is a mixed bag. I'd be curious as to what you B/A/M/GM guys with a lot of rounds downrange are seeing in local matches, as far as optics go.
Agreed. I have an RMR on my Staccato P because I don't want to send money to the CCP or aligned entities, but am not jazzed on the window size and distortion. I am really hoping trijicon gets off their collective butts and does something, because they messed up with the RMR CC footprint, which is why I have a 507k on my P365XL, and will probably have this new SCS 320 on my 2011 if it fits any DPP footprint pistol and not just the 320.
Well I'm intrigued... Even more so if it mounts directly to Staccato P
Do you mean, you don’t care if it’s the best optic for your gun, you won’t use it because it’s China asshoe? Or do you mean, you don’t care about performance, you’re going to buy it anyway because it’s pretty?
Brevity might be the soul of wit, but it’s not always the soul of clarity.
Would it, though?
What tech, exactly, did they steal? Buttons on the side? A footprint?
They're doing more to innovate than any other company in the space, probably combined. They control the micro pistol optic market. They are a leader in the enclosed optic market. They make the only enclosed micro optic. They are the only optic manufacturer that year after year is bringing something new.
What has Trijicon done for the pistol optics space in the last three years? The RMRcc that has all of the same downsides as the RMR plus a completely proprietary mount.
What about Leupold? A weird dovetail mounted sight that nobody asked for.
Or Aimpoint? They brought us the optic they should have brought us when the P1 was released.
Steiner? Doing what Steiner always does in electronic optics...a single, novel product with a couple of shortcomings.
I like all of those other companies, but none of them are doing half of what Holosun is doing to push the industry forward. I also don't care for the China machine, but Holosun is matching the others in quality while beating them in innovation and price.
I have more Holosuns than anything, but I would say you are about 1.5/3. Holosun durability seems pretty good, at least it has been for me. However their quality as in fit and finish often leaves a bit to be desired. Innovation? No question, head and shoulders above. Price? Well I just payed $360 for a little EPS Carry with no solar and single dot. $75 more if you want the features. Their price is definitely creeping up. What isn't though.
in principle i agree, but it's no longer a case of buying holosun because they're a cheap illicit copy - it's now because our own optics companies, drunk on contracts and more concerned with gatekeeping tech they make for the US military, no longer bother to make what the market is asking for.
closest i see is sig finally making an enclosed pistol optic, i suppose we will see how it does.
curious - with a dpp footprint, would it fit the P365 slide?
I bought this slide for one of my pistols. It has that exact optic on it as shown.

Will this new Holosun optic fit that cut without using any adapter plates???
Just saw this post and figured I would add my .02 cents. A lot of what you are seeing (at least in this case) are brought on from the retailers. When I was shopping I saw a wide array of prices. Just within the past 24 hours (as of this post) Brownells had the 2 MOA dot version of the EPS Carry for $289.
It's like when there was ammo shortages and some sellers would mark up the price of the ammo that was sitting on a pallet in their warehouse, sometimes by double or triple.
These little dots are a hot commodity right now, but the supply chain is still questionable at best. Delays and backorders are now standard almost. Hence a lot of the retailers were charging a premium to those customers that didn't want to wait...
