I watched "Prospect" on Netflix today, and really liked it. Fair warning, I have a soft spot for low budget sci fi, and this was really well done low budget sci fi. Small scale story of a girl and a miner/bandit trying to get off-world when a plan goes sideways. There was a cool amount of world building, enough that there was obviously a big, weird world out there, but they didn't info dump or over-explain anything. I said it was low budget, and I'm pretty sure I'm right, but it didn't feel cheap. There were solid looking props and effects, just a very small cast and the setting was mostly outdoors in a big forest.
There's a bit of gun use involved (mostly obviously crappy guns, because the characters are on the edge of society), but there was a throwaway line where one character was holding a gun, but doing something not fighting related, and another character says "watch that trigger finger, keep it straight" or something like that. Hooray for proper gun handling! Too bad the weapons didn't have sights. You take what you can get.
