Shot my new Beretta A300 ultima patrol.
Federal Flite Control, and Nobel reduced recoil 9 pellet buck for patterning. 10 rounds of each.
Also ran a box of 25 #8 skeet loads.
It's an extremely soft shooting shotgun, and patterns well with the Flite Control at 18 yards.
Attachment 108818
The Nobel stuff definitely opened wider at the same distance.
Attachment 108819
At 50 yards, the Nobel's spread was torso sized, while the federal stayed tighter.... Perhaps the size of a basketball.
It cycled very smooth, not a hitch thru the 45 shells.
I'm liking it very well for the first outing.
Attachment 108820
Also ran 100 rounds thru the Beretta 92 compact.
It ran without a hitch as well.
Started my Dry Fire/Reload Drills For the Pat Rogers Memorial Revolver Shoot. I started carrying revolvers only last week to get back into it.

Depends.
I know dudes who put chalk on at the start of every duty day and re-apply after lunch. While many competition shooters put on so much chalk they look like they have jazz hands, you only need a little bit and it stays effective until you wash your hands. Bill Blowers of Tap Rack Tactical was doing it on duty for years.
For context, some of these dudes work in places where they have to carry a completely Stock /issued gun and putting something like grip tape on is not an option.
I’m not a big fan of shooting with gloves, so anytime I put body armor on at work I put on kneepads and chalk up my hands.
PS - If you’ve never done so, try drawing / shooting manipulating a gun with disposable nitrile / surgical gloves on. They are VERY grippy.
Shot my Gen 4 G17 in a match. Came in the bottom of time with the Super Senior crowd. Pretty good on A's - 6 th out of 44. Parsing my times due to walking vs. shooting speed is an on going investigation. Don't want a knee to give out. Iron sights. I was thinking about this. So you have a start position, folks get all poised like for the Olympic sprint. At the bell, they draw and run to the position. I tend to stroll to the position and THEN draw. Bad for time but having once had the knee give out and topple me - nope. Kept the gun down range and safe, actually shot from the ground but since I ain't winning, I ain't sprinting. The super seniors do have a sedate pace.
I do like that gun. The finger groves actually fit my hand well (the G19s did not). Next will be the SRO Gen 5 17 as I am doing comparisons. The match was decent as a couple before this stunk. However, that was due to not establishing a good grip and falling into a bad one that Tom Givens pointed out to me. Concentrated and back on target except for some Mikes that were due to the wind blowing the rounds off course (yep!).
I just don't get the grip angle theme about Glocks.
I will get some Nitrile gloves from my wife, she has boxes of them, that she uses for whatever wives do. Will dry fire a bit to see.

I attended the state academy’s two day revolver instructor course with the GP100 I bought new in 1987. I put over 500 rounds through it. The only problem was once today I skipped a chamber. The state’s regular qualification course isn’t that difficult on the full scale target, but I managed a 25/25 score on their 25% target.
Carbine, shotgun, and pistol today. Spent 2 hours shooting. Mostly drills but also shot out to 200 yards.

I've been going a little retro lately, playing with open sights on my ARs.
Colt lower with BCM middy upper and a Colt carry handle. I was able to hit steel targets at 150, 220, and 330 yards

Starting to transition back to limited for a bit and dug out the STI DVC for today.
Did not get much time to practice during the week. I was mildly concerned about transitioning from a DA/SA, but my hands still knew how to use a safety.
First stage was an old classifier with SHO/WHO, I shanked one low WHO, but other than that my only real issue was setting up on steel correctly:o

Secondscount and I did some long range practice at the local distance range that has various steel targets from 100 out to 1000 yards (we're pretty lucky to have it close by) The wind today was especially challenging for the .223 caliber rifles, with frequent intensity and direction shifts. Much more difficult than usual hitting 500 yards and beyond, but excellent spotting and wind reading practice. 77gr loads were much easier and consistent than lighter bullet loads.
We did manage to start getting the wind calls right, netting us some solid hits at 1000 with 6.5CM and 6BR rifles respectively. I haven't touched my longer range guns for a couple years trying to save reloading components while weathering the shortages and price increases. Fundamentals have suffered some. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c5f884895b.jpg
Windy is an understatement, during the time we were shooting, 9AM-1PM, we saw full value wind gusts as high as 18+ MPH.

About mid July I set out to find a beater police trade understudy for the role of a heavy practice gun for my 1992 W. Germany P228. I succeeded. Now 1,200 rounds in, nary a bobble and very accurate as you would expect
I think it is probably the equal of its German cousin in terms of shootability.
Attachment 109108
I've got a P6 that I have the same trust in.
It lived with my father for quite a while, but got it back a few years ago.
Extremely accurate reliable gun.
Just sold my '91 West German P228, which was like new, but rarely shot it.
I shot my G19 and my 642-2 today. Shot the 642 first, started with the Snubby Super Test. It was supposed to be a cold run, but on the three-yard string I had “3” in my mind and only shot three rounds. I realized what I did, shot the other two and taped those holes and started over. It turned out okay, neither my best nor my worst.

I shot the Five-Yard Roundup and Two Add One with the G19 but didn’t take any photos. Those 20-yard shots are still giving me a hard time.
Argh, how do I get the unedited photo out of there? I deleted it in the text box.
Attachment 109155
Yesterday afternoon I shot my practice Shield Plus. I shot the Rangemaster Baseline Assessment and the Five Yard Roundup and another drill or two. I can definitely see a performance difference between the Shield and my bigger M&Ps. I also shot the Snubby Super Test with my 642 and my 43C. The POI seems to have shifted on the 43C since I last shot it.

Yesterday I essentially impulsively bought another 870 and another M&P9 2.0 Compact-but this one is optic ready with a manual safety. I ran most of a box of the cheap Winchester birdshot through the 870, and a few mags through the 9mm. I have a Magpul buttstock on hand for the 870. The 870 Tactical was traded in from a SW Ohio PD the clerk said. He said they were made in 2006. These have an XS sight rail and a nice white front dot, and a 18” REM choke barrel.
Monday I’ll check it with 00 and it might go camping with me Tuesday.
I have a new in the box ACRO in the safe so I’ll be ordering a plate for the M&P.
I also shot a cylinder from the 43C, last week it seemed the POI had shifted to the right. Today it was centered.
On the 100 yard bay I shot my M&P15T with a 1-8 Strike Eagle. I’ve not shot it much since switching scopes, I need to work with it more.

We definitely need to work on his accuracy but I really just want to make sure he's safe, has fun, and listens to directions.

It was great to watch his concentration. He was surely having a great time!
Won't be long before he's beating the hell out of both of our scores...lol.
Hope he enjoys the little 22 rifle.
Great the rain held off for us.
I shot this match clean~ down zero on every string, but....slow.
Dupe from a failed editing attempt…
@03RN, that’s AWESOME! At 5 he already has more experience at a pistol match than I do!🤣
Please give him a ‘well done!” from us!

Got the replacement stocks and BK grip adapter installed. Took it to the range today and it shoots pretty good. I didn't get a picture of the target, shooting on crutches is hard enough that I didn't want to mess with pictures.
The expended brass is a little hard to get to extract. I need to think about maybe getting the cylinder honed.
I shot some CCI Quiet, CCI Mini-Mags and CCI Segmented Hollow points. The CCI Quiet shot the best (it only shoots at ~700 FPS). The CCI Segmented shot well also at ~1600 FPS. The CCI Mini-Mags shot ok, but I had more failures with it. They all went off on the second try. I only shot these in DA. Next time I will shoot some in single action.
Overall I think I got a great deal on this gun.
FWIW I got around to shooting my post-honing 35-1 yesterday. Night and day difference. The 35-1 had sticky extraction with all ammo and some was borderline near get a piece of wood and a mallet territory. After honing, easy and clean extraction with both punch and mini-mags both of which were high up the problem spectrum. TK custom did a great job! $85 a cylinder plus the shipping cost to get it to them. They received the cylinder on a Monday and it was back to me Friday of the same week. Very satisfied with them.

I worked on zeroing the Super Wrangler at 25 yards with Mini mags. I also had 9 rounds of Velocitors in the range box. I need to try some more as I’m suspecting they might group better.
Attachment 109385
I shot a few shotshells in 22, 38, and 9mm. Left bull is 9mm from full size M&P9, right is 38 from the 642, both about three steps. At five steps the 9mm had fewer pellets in the center of the pattern.
Attachment 109386
I swapped SureFire forends among some 870s and I put a spare Magpul on the 870 Tactical I bought last week. I ran some of the cheaper white box Winchester birdshot through both guns, until a fired case stuck in the Tactical. I then checked the patterns through both with Hornady low recoil at various distances.
Got out to the range today with my new-to-me Marcolmar Cetme L to check zero and function.
Previous owner said he'd put @ 100 rounds through it, so I was expecting to have to put a few more to finish the "break-in" (manual recommends 200 rounds)...but it functioned 100% with Federal AE XM193 and a grab bag of miscellaneous loose extra rounds I've collected from previous range trips. Total, I put about 150 rounds through it. Also, zero issues with any of the different types of magazines I tried (USGI, Korean steel 30 rnd., original Cetme 12 rnd. with steel follower, and original Cetme 30 rnd. with Magpul followers).
I started at 50 yds. for a 50/200 zero. The rear sight was screwed all the way to the right when I got it, so I assumed I'd have trouble getting this thing to stay on paper (buying used guns is always an iffy proposition...I figured this thing must have been unreliable and inaccurate, and thus the reason for him to be getting rid of it). It initially hit @ 8" right, so after a few trial and errors I got it close to center (got a couple of decent groups for a franken-gun with open sights and me with poor eyesight). I wasn't able to put it on paper at 100 yds. as it started pouring rain (and I forgot my spotting scope), but I was able to it on some steel and was able to ring the 4" gong with decent regularity even with the bad eyes and poor weather. I have no idea why the previous guy cranked full-right windage on this thing.
I'd been eying these ever since they came out a few years ago, but previous experience with mil-surp parts kit guns told me to stay away (or at least approach with caution)...but MCM did a really good job with these and they're way ahead of any Century built parts-kit franken-gun.

I swapped out for some green surplus bits to see how it looked with the grey receiver (the original Spanish models has green painted receivers and MCM offers models in green receiver/furniture, FDE receiver/furniture, and the black/grey combo)...

This one popped up locally on Armslist for a good price, so I succumbed to the temptation. Not being able to see/handle one in person is mainly what has kept me from grabbing one 'til now. The styling on this thing screams '80s...which is the same era I spent my pre-teen and teenage years drooling over pre-89 assault rifles in magazines and gun shows.
I wandered around the woods with an over and under 20 gauge. I was looking for grouse.
Did not shoot because no grouse appeared.
Yesterday, Just another outing with my Millennium Custom STI limited gun. 11 OAL, high senior OAL, and highest placement of those not to have some electronic doohickey sighting system atop their pistola.
Today my weapon of choice will be a Corvette Grand Sport, a parking lot, and some cones. Don’t expect to do nearly as well.
I'm a day late posting, but yesterday I shot my Glock 19, Glock 43, and my S&W Model 15. I just got the revolver earlier this year and only have about 350 rounds through it. I am not a revolver shooter, but I'd like to not embarrass myself when shooting a revolver. Yesterday the 15 started to feel "normal." Good hits were easier and split times dropped significantly, or rather I should say that I had split times. I'm very pleased.
Yesterday was 3gun at CCFSA in Wilmington OH. Typically I shoot my 5" M&P all tricked out with a direct mill SRO and Apex flat trigger and their barrel, but yesterday I decided to shoot my (mostly) everyday carry gun, a simple 4" M&P Compact with TFO sights, otherwise all stock.
Just you never mind that I made this "decision" because I left the nice 5" gun at home in the safe...
Seriously though, it did underscore my notion that sticking to a pretty consistent platform of guns does correlate between them pretty well. Also very convenient that all the loaded mags that I did manage to bring were compatible. I shot it well enough and really didn't cost me more than a few seconds on one target, that I am pretty sure I would have hit on the first try with the bigger gun. And it is all just a rounding error, I have a pretty good handle on the shotgun (if not much reloading is required) and pistol, I need to tune up my rifle shooting if I am going to improve.
ETA: There was one array that was shotgun/pistol optional that I might have gone pistol if I had brought the proper one with me, but I probably did it faster with the shotgun. It required two slugs and they maybe made it pistol optional for people that didn't bring any slugs.
Lame picture of the simple pistol, since this is a Gallery thread:

I’ve carried AIWB for several years, mostly Glocks, Walther and HK, all striker fired guns. Even though I know there’s a chance of an AD to the groin area I managed to live with whatever anxiety that I experienced.
This year however I decided to make a change and go with a DA/SA pistol….in my case the CZ P07. One has had the trigger upgrade from Cajun Gun Works and the other two are stock. Two have Dawson fiber optic sights and the black one has XS night sights.
All three were milled by Scott Milam at Impact Machine here in Louisiana and he installed the RDS’s. I already had the 507k and the other two are Holosun EPS Carry….one red and the other green. Scott does great work and is someone you can count on to do it right the first time.
The DA on both green guns are a very smooth 8 pounds and the black is 10#. SA on all three range from 4 to 5 pounds.
In addition to a lot of dry fire, they’ve all had north of 500 rounds through them. They don’t burp, stumble or clutch in any way.
Went out to the Ouachita Sheriff’s range this morning and shot the falling plates. Needless to say I’m very happy with my CZ’s….btw they’re carried in a JMCK George and a JMCK Road Dog. Good stuff.

I worked mostly on bowling pin targets with a 10/22 Compact, S&W 15-22, my 1986 Ruger MkII, , 22/45/TacSol and the optic ready M&P9 compact. I also shot the carry mag and a practice mag from my 380 M&P Bodyguard. I enjoyed the MkII, I haven’t shot it very much since I shoot the 22/45 more now.
