Be Still My Beating Heart~! Classics all around.... is that a Tom Threepersons holster?

This model 28 vexed me mightily until I sent it off to Karl Sokol to sort it out. After a ton of work, a muzzle recrown, and a trigger job she's running like a champ:

Holster is an old Safariland I snagged in good shape.
They are indeed VZ's "ivory" grips.
I haven't had the chance to do any live fire with those grips installed just yet, but handling the gun I don't think that the areas where the backstrap is a little more exposed are going to be a problem. The edges aren't sharp and they are only exposed on an area that will stay locked pretty hard into the meaty part of my hand below the base of my thumb. I'll test it out with some live fire of .38 spl and some full-power .357 magnum this weekend.
So the answer to that is "No."
I fired a couple of hundred rounds yesterday, a mix of full-power 158 grain .357 magnum (which is still zippy in such a big revolver) and .38 spl doing everything from shooting bullseyes to running a plate rack. I didn't experience any discomfort even when shooting the big boomer loads.
