What do you think the 19X would do that the Gen 5 17 would not? For competition the flared magwell on the Gen 5 is an advantage over previous generations and the 19X. I have never shot a 19X, so take that opionion for what it’s worth.
Eh, depends on what you’re actually having done to the gun. The Vickers package isn’t something that I’d get because some of it is needless fluff. Slide and frame work done by ATEi for around $500? I’m actually saving up right now for exactly that.
Stippling and trigger guard undercut? I could definitely use the extra grippiness When things aren’t entirely dry. Undercut will be a huge relief to my middle finger.
Top serrations and enhanced side serrations? Same thing for when things aren’t entirely dry.

A $1,500 Glock seems as useless/useful as a $4,500 1911. :p
And I don’t think there’s anyone here that is saying you can’t do just that. Nothing wrong with that at all. However, polymer framed pistols are generally fairly slippery, even Gen4/5 frames, and benefit greatly from stippling. Permanent additional serrations to the slide take the place of grip tape I already have on there.
Nothing wrong with a stock Glock trigger. That being said, it is an unforgiving trigger. There are some that make very good aftermarket triggers and everyone would do well to stick to those should they choose to go aftermarket.
Does everyone stick to plain Jane Colt 6920s even for duty or defensive use? Yeah, not so much...

I don't see a lot of meat on the bone for improvement of the stock Gen 5/M trigger, personally.
