Ditto. Functionally, the flipper opens up just as quick as an auto. I have a 0561BW and it is a great knife. The pocket clip is probably the best suited clip for edc of any of my pocket knives. It rides deep in the pocket and the black anodizing keeps it a bit subdued.
Is the 0561 as robust a design as the 0300?
Make mine a "Buck Light"
clip-on back pocket
1.6oz
2 3/4" blade
The 0561 is bombproof. It's a massive knife, and more robust than any other in my collection. I don't think the 0300 adds anything useful with regard to function or durability, but it felt more beefy to me. The speed safe is definitely NOT a more robust design. A Google search will turn up some issues requiring repair. (Search for: "zero tolerance speed safe knife torsion bar rattle broken"). It's still a good knife... but IMO just not equal to the 0561.
Thanks for the info.
Since PF is one of the few boards I actually enjoy visiting everyday, and as a knife-nut, I'd like to rekindle the thread as to get my daily knife pron fix here. I've been a knife guy since First Blood hit the screens in 1982, I was 8. Took me a while to sharpen my skill set of acquiring and hiding knives from the parental units, but I became quite proficient at it. Thirty-three years later and I still have one or more in the pocket on a daily basis.
Blessed with a Sebenza 25 last year for Fathers Day, and it's been a great folder. I work with scientists, who can be a bit sheepish, but after some proper break-in they now ask me to cut crap around the office.
