On a somewhat serious note, how would "dart the perps" work? Would there be a "dial-a-dose" needle so the dosage can be adjusted to account for the dartee's body weight? Or would the darter have to make a quick estimation of body weight and then load the appropriate dart? How does that work at a bad-breath range encounter?
Massive dose and Narcan or other antidote in the kit. Dart, cuff, neutralize.

NYPD ESU has these, or at least used to. They called them "looney forks"....pin an EDP against a wall with it, made it safer for the precinct guys to cuff them. A two-officer ESU Radio Emergency Patrol (light rescue truck) gets dispatched to pretty much every EDP call.
It worked in Commando.
