I could go either way. In my mind it seems possible in theory, but practically unlikely, but I dunno dinky. Just glad this guy tried if it's real.

I'm going with fake. My educated guess is that wingsuits provide nowhere near enough lift to have that angle-of-attack/glide-slope at such a slow speed.

If this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-CxPNRWbpY is real(see the data readout lower left), it looks as though it is possible to flare down to a speed & sink rate that would give you a relatively safe water landing. But your flare timing would have to be absolutely perfect.

100% fake.

The angle of descent in those suits is, at best, 45 degrees. Probably closer to 60. No way does that suit have enough surface area to allow a shallower descent angle.

Go look at the real video of the BASE jumper with the wingsuit that clipped the mountain on descent and broke his legs. That was a steep angle there and he still couldn't avoid the collision.

And that splash was terrible CGI.

The biggest giveaway is that there is no wide shot of the landing.
