I bought one a few months ago from AIM Surplus, and love this rifle, with the exception of the horrible Kalashnikov sights. Mine has a born on date of 1990, and it doesn't appear that it was ever issued. The link below details a bit more about the rifle.

As the iron sights are removable, I am going to put a RDS or a small, inexpensive optic on it for varmint duty.
