Week 80: Mozambiquemozam
results may be posted until 11:59pm EST on Monday 30-September-2013.

Range: 10yd
Target: torso target (8" circle, 8.5x11 paper, USPSA A-zone) and head target (3x5, USPSA credit card, or similar)
Start position: holstered (if allowed)
Rounds fired: 50

Draw and fire two rounds to the torso, one round to the head, and two more rounds to the torso (5 shots total per draw). Record time and hits/misses.

Repeat for a total of ten runs.

Note that the drill is run at 10yd, not 7yd.

Please report the following when you post your results in this thread:

gun & holster used
targets used
starting position (concealed, duty holster, open holster, or ready)
total time for all ten runs
total hits on torso target (out of 40 possible)

Hey, what is with the 10 yards thing -- that is like moving the furniture on Helen Keller.

If you can't hack it we can always set up a "GJM/red tee" line at 7yd.

Correct. Thank you!

Keep in mind that I am from Hawaii, so I have lots of them. I only wear the more traditional, reverse print, muted style of Aloha shirt, not the cheap garish ones sold to tourists...

38/40 head hits.

Am I confused?

I think that is a smoking time BTW.

Am I confused?

I think that is a smoking time BTW.

This whole drill was confusing. First it was at 10 yards. Then Todd said report 5 runs instead of 10. I almost emailed Todd to tell him he didn't specify whether the reload was at slide lock or not, until I realized, only after looking at Doc's times and comparing to my calculated "par," that they seemed awfully fast for 5 shots with a reload. I am not sure if I know how to transition between a head and body without a reload. Doc gets 77 hits on a 50 shot drill -- must be some special ammo he is testing.

CCT, you are just naturally smarter, as you constantly use the DA/SA transition as a cognitive development drill.

Reminder: DotW threads are for reporting results (and asking for clarification when needed). They are not intended to be a place for back-and-forth discussion about the drill and one's personal like or dislike thereof.

Thank you.

CCT125US/GJM: Typo fixed...

With the RDS, the further I am from the target, the better I like it...

Couple of interesting notes about this range session. It had been a couple of weeks since I shot, and the lack of practice showed, especially in my times. :( Also, about 4 runs into my session my father managed to ricochet a .22 into my face, which my eye pro stopped... My performance significantly decreased after that as I tried to un-pucker everything...
