And your second in the Greater DC area, which given your Denver-ish residence, probably says something about your training regimen. ;)

I'm going to try to swing by to watch part of the match if schedules and such allow.

Sure just during Modern Day Marine...

IF we get done in time, I will bring Jack for an 8 or 9pm

You should reserve a couple of 9pm slots to be on the safe side, if any are left.

Even if you can't get in, since you're both in town, maybe a post-match late night dinner is in order. Between you and Jack I'm guessing your expense accounts can probably handle, what, seven or eight people at Ruth's Chris? I'll make a reservation in your name...

Yes. Calling shortly to confirm - but will be there for the 9pm squad regardless if we need to kneecap a few folks in the parking lot ;)

Jack and I are in.

There was only room at 5pm, but I had her stick us in the 9pm and blamed Josh...

Mainly as we could not make 5pm regardless of traffic from Quantico.

I'll be there before you, then, and just relax until dinner after the match.

What is the lowdown on spectating? I am relatively new to the area and have not had the chance to shoot at the range yet, but am interested in stopping by, checking it out, and meeting you guys.

Cheers,
David

Spectating is allowed, but you need to take the range "test" in order to enter the range. The answers are included with the test, so it's simply a matter of reading the range rules, and there is a $10 fee associated with administering the test and making a range card.

Can that be administered this evening seeing as the range is "closed for action events" today?

I hadn't known the answer to that question before tonight, but there was at least one completely new spectator who took the range test tonight thanks to the solid work of the esteemed Ms B. I hope you were able to come out.

And as always, wanted to say thanks to the folks whose hard work makes this happen - and the excellent folks whose comradeship on the firing line makes it worthwhile.

It was also very good to see Todd coming out again, looking healthy and hale.

Had a great time, as always. My friend shot the match, his first competition of any kind, and just had a blast. He may have "caught the bug." If it weren't for the 1-hour format of these events, he couldn't have made it and wouldn't have realized how much fun it can be.

Thanks for the venue!

As always, I had a great time. Thanks to the crew for putting on a smooth match! This time I posted a solid Revolver B-Class classifier time (using either the Draft November 2011 or official December 2011 KSTG rules =) ). Not bad for zero practice/training for the past two months (it's been all NRA Conventional Pistol/Bullseye for the past few weeks).

I did make it out to watch and look forward to shooting a match with you guys in the near future.

It was also good to see a lot of new people shooting the match this time (or at least people I don't normally see on the 8PM and 9PM relays).

Forgot to mention - the name of the first stage was supposed to be "Nairobi Cafe." I wanted the start position to be with a cup of coffee in your hand, and an IDPA vest on one of the no-shoots. ;)

Plenty of guys will give you the shirt off their back. Far fewer will give you the gun in their holster... and their holster... and their belt... Fred is awesome.

Awesome match -- thanks for having me (and Jack).

I'll be back (probably squad with Bax for future matches).

I am going to Get DQ'd again and again - as I carry a gun gun with a light, I guess I'll need to lobby the KSTG board to allow lights anyone got a POC :D

Yea. And he will help you move for ammo.........best deal I made all year!

Jack, next time you can stop at the house and help yourself to whatever is there. Wife can open the safe, and point to belts, holsters, and ammo. If you are driving through, just stop and pick something out of the vault. (But I don't think you are allowed to shoot a Tommygun at the KSTG match, nice try!)

You're not DQ'd, you're just not listed with the other competitors. So you're not eligible for the "trophies" (which are just words on a computer screen) and your classifier score doesn't count.
