View Full Version : Colorado Recall

Looks like Morse is almost certainly out, not enough results back from Giron's recall election to make a call yet.

Good news!

Giron's still looking like a no-go, but Morse is the more important one. If Colorado can oust the president of the senate, that'll send a clear message to Bloomberg's would-be cronies.

The denver post is reporting morse conceded. Also looks like the other race is going well too, with only 25 percent in?

Morse conceded, but Giron is doing well so far, unfortunately. She's up 57%-43% with 25% of precincts reporting.

Don't the "yes" votes mean recall?

Guys, I am so happy I could cry.

Morse is gone. Giron is up next. With 25% reporting in, the 'YES' votes for a recall are far outpacing the 'no' votes.

I am so happy, I am so happy, I am so happy. You have no idea.

Guys, this is historic. Colorado has never ever recalled anyone before. This is a first. Colorado is also the 'litmus test' in a lot of gun-control groups' eyes, serving as somewhat of a model for the rest of the nation. What happens here has far more implications than just what is confined to the border of our state. Liberals have outspent the pro-recall groups by at least 7 to 1 to defend these politicians. This is huge huge huge. Not just for me. For you, too.

We've been saying all along that Colorado is different. We've said you might be able to get away with new gun control measures in New York and California, but this is Colorado and we won't stand for it.

Colorado is delivering on those words. A huge THANK YOU to all the courageous patriots in Colorado Springs and Pueblo!

AWESOME NEWS!!!

I will hopefully be based out of DEN next year so this will be my best chance to convince the wife to move back to the front range. I certainly hope that some of these laws can be overturned or at least neutered. Colorado is the front lines of the fight, and while the law makers refused to listen to all of those who wrote and protested against these laws when the bills were being voted on, after tonight, they are deaf at their own peril.

Another sign of how America is becoming a divided nation.

This is a good development, but I have to wonder about implications beyond the RKBA.I visited relatives in Chicago after years of being stationed in pro RKBA states, and it was like visiting a foreign country. All of a sudden guns are evil, self reliance is criminalized or socially discouraged, and English isn't even a primary language in some city blocks. It felt like all I needed was a CIA handler and fake passport to complete the experience.

Were becoming a country of two nations. One which abides by the Constitution, and another which is in a hurry to shred it.Because the anti gun movement is the one without a legal mandate or standing for their cause, they cannot afford to relent .Unfortunately, the states going the wrong way on this issue have a LOT of people .Which means sooner or later, this cultural disagreement won't be settled with the ballot box .

Note that I hope sincerely it never comes to that. But ,human nature being what it is, I believe one day the antis won't step aside so quietly as they did today.May whatever deity or power you trust save this Nation on that occcasion.

It's official! They are both recalled!

I am happy, and in a way proud. Colorado Springs has been getting more liberal over the last 10 years.
I know there is a long way to go, but hopefully soon we can repeal the 15 round magazine law. I'm especialy looking forward to this because my pistol holds 17 rounds from the factory, and I broke off a small tab on one of my mag bodys during a reload in an IPSC match. perfect timing I guess.

MSNBC had a buried story about the recall, but nothing about the results as of yet. You can bet if the recalls had failed, they'd be trumpeting it from the ramparts. Now it's all about how the new developments in the Syria situation are all due to Obama's genius...

How can any person with an above average IQ think that taking liberties away from a the law abiding even begins to addresses this problem? http://fun.resplace.net/Emoticons/Angry/BangHead1.gif

I had to go into school the other day with my kid. As I'm locking my gun in the car lockbox the conversation went like this...
Kid: Why do you have to lock up your gun?
Me: Because it's not allowed in school.
Kid: (silent)
Me: What do you think about that?
Kid: I guess that's good since guns shouldn't be in school.
Me: Well, let me ask you...... The law says guns are not allowed, but still bad people bring guns into schools and do bad things sometimes. Bad people don't care that there's a law against guns in schools. Are you and I safer if good people have to leave their guns in the car?
Kid: Wow, that's really stupid.

From the mouths of babes.

It's not about addressing the problem.

You're discussing an article of faith, here. The gun banners find it morally offensive that you can buy a handgun and despite any research or statistics that say otherwise they're convinced that the core cause of violence is your ability to go buy a gun, especially ones that are too powerful and hold too many bullets. That must be rectified. Exorcise the demon and peace will return.

This is why I often refer to liberalism as the ultimate faith-based initiative.

I love how they always say "It's the NRA's fault." It is always the evil cabal of gun makers wanting to push their latest baby seal killers to the streets of America. It is NEVER a grass roots effort of patriotic Americans pissed off at being the scapegoat so that liberal law makers can make brownie points with low information voters and push their statist agenda every time a tragedy occurs.

So people are too lazy to go to the polling booth to vote they have to vote by mail? They keep saying the military vote this is the mail in vote for national elections and Colorado springs has the Air Force Academy there. I know many officers are central to conservative on issues more than liberal. She does not know what happened because she did not try to win her seat and blew off the recall election.

Oh Pueblo now I know they are normally lazy but 40% turnout is good for State Senate election.

34,556 people voted in the recall. In her 2010 election a total of 41,648 voted for a difference of 7,092 or 17% drop in voter turnout. I’m not sure that rises to the level of voter suppression. Also the term “voter suppression” suggest a deliberate attempt to keep people from voting. Just because people are not motivated or smart enough to vote doesn’t make it an unfair election.

ffhounddog

I still think that blaming it on mail in ballots when every national election her party tries to suppress the mail in vote from overseas.

Also she is worse that a kid that looses homecoming.
