That's Charlie Schumer's boy!

Love how these guys refuse to see how their personal "follies" have any effect on their ability or qualifications to be public leaders.

I don’t think he understands the concept of getting people to vote for him instead of thinking he’s a tool.

Spews?

I don’t think he understands the concept of getting people to vote for him instead of thinking he’s a tool.
You're missing the plan.... He's dead in the water, and he's taking a page from the Hillary Handbook..... "What difference does it make, at this point?". Better to stay in and keep swinging. You can bet his "won't take kitten from the dude with the beanie" bought him a few votes today.

When he trotted out his wife for the news conference and she said "please let us handle this privately", why did nobody say "We'll leave this to be a private matter just as soon as you stop running for public office"...?

People is stupid.

dislike weiner if you want, but calling out the guy's wife like that was low. nice display of tolerance there, brother.

personally I want to see weiner win, if only because the dick jokes will practically write themselves! :D

Like every time he makes he makes a forceful statement we could see the header: "Weiner Ejaculates." If he starts gaining support: "Weiner Swells." Should he demonstrate resolve: "Weiner Stiffens." Alas currently it seems that only "flaccid Weiner" bon mots are in our future.

The little tin foil hat wearing Russian inside of me is wondering if this little exchange wasn't manufactured. It put Weiner back in the headlines.

That said, while I am usually a big proponent of Chivalry, when someones wife is part of the Hilary Clinton entourage and themselves a participant in the slimy politics that surround them, I feel they are fair game.

Thanks for the back up ;)

If Mrs. Anthony Weiner wasn't a willing participant in trying to "make this thing go away so Mr. Anthony Weiner would hold on to a sliver of hope of becoming the next NYC Mayor", THEN I would agree she would be off limits. Even her mentor Hillary was less of a public eyesore during the Lewinski scandal. (That might be the closest thing to a complement I've ever given Mrs. Clinton). But then Bill had already been elected, so, apples & oranges.

Disclaimer: I think Anthony Weiner is an idiot who should drop out of politics. I also don't think he should get in shouting matches with strangers.

With that said, the issue isn't that his wife is "off limits."

Reached by CNN later in the day, Kessler admitted calling out Weiner for being "married to an Arab."
"It's just a certain feeling I have as a Jew," said the 51-year-old real estate manager, explaining his remark. "And my attitude is that -- not all Arabs -- but, in general, ... they want to kill every Jew."
Kessler said of a Jewish person marrying into such a family: "It's like a betrayal."
http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/04/politics/new-york-weiner-married-arab/

The issue is that the man derided Weiner for being married to an "Arab." It was meant as an insult.

Thing is, Huma Abedin's parents are Indian and Pakistani. Yes, she practices Islam. No, she is not an Arab. Yes, there is a difference. No, most people don't care.

Hell, maybe we could blow Kessler's mind by explaining to him that there are Arab Jews in the world. (Yes, I realize there is controversy over that phrasing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_Jews#Criticisms_of_the_term_.22Arab_Jews.22))

Am I saying that Weiner was right for yelling? No. I'm saying that we're witnessing two a-holes yelling at each other. One's a racist a-hole, and one's a pompous, delusional a-hole.
