Does anyone make an OWB pancake or IWB Kydex holster with a "quiet" lining? This isn't about finish wear on a pistol. It's about a much quieter draw... without compromising retention too much.

My old Safariland 6280 had a thin, leather type lining that was very quiet. I'm not sure if the lining was natural or synthetic. It was bonded well to the holster.

You're in Texas and so is Tucker Gun Leather (http://www.tuckergunleather.com). He has the option to line his kydex holsters with leather. Give'em a shout.

ETA - I believe Kolbeson has the option as well. Might be a special order.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check them out.

The Haley Incog is the only one I've owned that's come close--only it's inside-out for what I want. They call it "Tactical Fuzz", and it's on the outside of the holster.

I was going to share a link to Garrett Industries but it appears their website is down. They do kydex with a leather lining.

Why are you putting so much importance on a quiet draw?

Cool, I'll get in touch with them as well. Thanks.

For the same reason I jump/jingle test the rest of my gear.

Been there, done that but can't fathom the importance of worrying about a concealed weapon's holster making noise as you draw it. To each their own and good luck on your search.

My Shaggy makes a very distinct snapping sound when the gun is drawn or reholstered. It is honestly loud IMO. My SME is silent, I did not go searching for a silent holster, but I do see it as a percieved benefit. I guess it depends on one's definition of loud and acceptable.

A weaponlight adds a bit more noise than a slick pistol. I don't like the clatter at speed from either one.

My next IWB will be an SME, belee dat.

How did I miss that review on the 10-8 page? Gracias.

It's not the lowest profile, but that's very interesting. Surprisingly cheap, too.

I appreciate that.

From all of your input I've had some positive responses and referrals so far. I'll report back.

I had a Silent Thunder IWB holster years ago for a 1911, but I ended up not liking the holster design. It was very quiet on the draw.
