Same here! His videos really crack me up with how intense he is, and his classes look like a lot of fun without being too "tactically serious". More people should be that positive.

You know, with all of the "train for reality" talk around here and debating concealment garments and where to put your AR mags - how about doing some strenuous activity and then solving a shooting problem. And having a lot of fun doing it.

I think making training fun is a huge component to getting better.

I think making training fun is a huge component to getting better.

Shooting is a serious exercise and should only ever be done with the most serious of motives and intentions. Under no circumstances should anyone ever do anything that might cause any level of mirth. Especially not something like shooting at chickens thrown through the air with a belt-fed machine gun.

ETA: I'm also seized by an urge to lift something heavy and shoot stuff. Unfortunately the closest I'll get this weekend is loading furniture in a Uhaul while carrying a pistol.

Say what you will, Pat Mac is not at all jaded about shooting stuff.

The cool thing is that he is able to bring that sensibility to his courses and gets the students to absorb it. The class was very intense and strenuous, but at no time was there a sense of "WE ARE OPERATORS!" It was a great learning experience while being fun. He's back in my neck of the woods in the spring and I already have my spot reserved.
