I have got an option to get these. Are they any good? Anything I should look out for or be aware of?

I have them installed on my new Glock 26 Gen4.

For me, they make it easier/faster to get a sight picture and on target.

I'm still trying working to find a low-light/darkness "sight picture", as I am used to rear sights that glow. (my rear sights are plain black, U notch)

Perhaps the I-dot would have been better for me?

I do notice a sharp edge to the rear sight, but hasn't yet worn my clothing down....

The front sight is excellent, with the orange circle in daylight and green dot in low-light.

I have them on one of my guns and will be adding them to others. I went from Warren 2 dot sights to these and for me the difference is pretty dramatic on how much quicker I can pick up the front sight with the Hacks.

I have a hackathorn rear and orange iDot front on my G19. Makes for a great sight picture in low to high light.

This is a good set up if you do not want/need a rear night sight.. If you like a rear night sight the Ameriglo Pro Operator works well with the Pro Glo front.

I have the 'Hacks' on a S&W Shield and like them.

This.

I've been using Ameriglos (mostly some variant of the HACKs) for serveral years and am quite happy. The ONLY minor issue I'd point out is the rear sight housings to seem to have a lot of sharp edges. They don't feel great against bare skin when worn IWB. I wouldn't hate it if they rounded out the edges prior to putting a finish on the sights.

I'm running this set up on one gun and like it, will probably convert two others as $ allows.

Agreed on the edges, I thought it was just me. I've thought about breaking them myself or having my gunsmith buddy do it.

OP - the only "complaint" you might hear is that the front sight is on the wider side, about .140 I think. That's not necessarily bad, just one of those individual things that works for some people and not others.

Thanks for the replies, glad its positive. I must just see between these and the Heinie straight 8's. Also if I get the Hackathorns I can later change the rear sight to tritium model should I wish too ,am I understanding the replies correctly?

If it's for a Glock, I'd get the Ameriglo C.A.P. which is like the Hackathorn 2.0

I run Hacks and Pro Operators on numerous pistols. I prefer the sight picture that I get from the Hacks.

I have Hacks on the front and Pro Operator (yellow) on the rear, 2 G19 and a G26. Looks like they're calling that combo the Spartan Tactical GL-447 now. I like the opposing tritium color green/yellow combo myself.

Had a closer look at the triji HD's. From the posts here they seem like a great choice.

I have them on my carry gun, my training gun, and 2 G17T's.
Great for my weak eyes, and I dont have much trouble shooting bulls at 25 with them either. Theoretically a thinner blade would be easier but if you cant see it...

Having used the GL-433 (Hack) sights for some time I tried the HD's and they where just way way too tall for my liking.

All of my Glocks run Hackathorns. I wish I could get them on my J frame, too.

Update: ended up going with Triji HD's. Tried both the yellow and orange, and I somehow found the yellow quicker for me to acquire. I tried a night shoot with just a front tritium sight, and found that on longer shots and certain situations, rear tritium dots would be helpful, hence leaving the hacks.

I thought Ameriglo was flourscent light absorbing paint that, when the lights went out, the light emiting paint lost its intensitly. It was kinda like radium paint on wrist watch dials in the 50s-60s in that whatever light was absorbed by the radium was soon depleted.

At least that was my experience with Ameriglo. That was about two years ago. Maybe Ameriglo has improved its product since then.

Did Hakathorn lend his name and endorsement to Ameriglo?

Yes, Ameriglo makes such a sight, but they also make night sights and plain black sights and fiber optic sights...

This is what I have found works for me, although I started using that combo before any of these had a name so by rights they should be named "Chuck's"

I have some Hacks on my M&P9 FS. They're... okay. Not bad, not good. Just okay. I like how bright the front is, but wish I had gone with a Pro Operator rear (if that's even available).

This is also the only sight set that I've ever managed to severely damage. Completely my fault, but a short fall put a sizeable dent in the rear.

The front is also a bit wide for my tastes. I'd like to see how it compares on a 5" gun. But, I'm assuming something slimmer would be more my speed. The current front feels like it fills my entire FOV. Some might actually like that.

I just bought a new Glock and while I like the Warrens on my Glock 17 I'm looking for something different for this gun... that seems rather interesting. Might give it a try.

Anyone know if the Spartan combo can be bought with a taller front sight height appropriate for a Glock 34?

On their website they have the same set marked for 17 and 34

You could order the front and rear separately to get the desired height.

Called them and spoke with Sharon. She wasn't aware of a 34 requiring a taller front, although that sure is my experience. Standard height front is 165 with the Spartan although they have a 200 and taller available.

Update. I was looking for the Spartan Tactical set-up for my Glock 34. Since the 34 typically requires a taller front sight than a 17, I spoke with Ameriglo, and there is a solution. Their normal Spartan front is .165, and the next size up is .200. Since .35 is too tall with the stock rear, they provided me with the G20/21 rear, which is .016 taller than a small frame rear, making the "G34" combination with effectively a .19 taller front sight than the set for the G17.

Sounds good. I have a standard set of the Spartans on my Gen 2 G17 and was just dry firing it today. I like the sight picture and need to get it to the range more often.

I had to do that exact same set-up to get my G17 to shoot to POA. Easy way to adjust elevation if it needs to be in that direction.

Sorry to bring this thread back buuuuuutt....

Can someone tell me the height of the Spartan Tactical front pro glo? Is it standard hack height .220 or .240?

I emailed Ameriglo but its after 5pm.

I recently purchased a Glock 26 from a friend who has been bitten by the 43 bug.
He supplied with the gun a brand new set of hackathorn sights.
I am not impressed with them on a short sight radius. I believe that I will install them on my 23, and move the tru-dots that are on the 23 to the 26.
Very bright pronounced sights, but I am not feeling them on the short slide.

I've bought two Pro Operator rears (yellow) within the last month for a G19 and G17. Both had set screws, so it looks like that's a recent change.

I like the Hacks do to the fact they are all black and bladed rear. I do wish they were a U notch, as I much prefer that to the square. My Shield has pro I dots, that are U notch, and I much prefer that sight picture. The Trijicon HD's I have on my G19 offer the best of all world's for me, U notch, bladed black rear etc.

Ameriglo makes a non serrated u notch. 405 or 406PRA...I can't remember.

The official rear from Ameriglo is serrated.

The 405PRA is not serrated but has radius lower corners giving it a kinda u notch feel.
