As a friend stated, "Anyone who includes North Korea in their list of 'the world's most libertarian countries', clearly doesn't understand how libertarianism works."

My take on this: It appears that we live in a world so statist, that the masses are completely devoid of actual political ideology. Rather, most people just want the government to enforce their own version of utopia based on specific issues. That's how this author has come to rate what "libertarianism" is based on specific issues...i.e. whether they legalize pot or not.....rather than any actual accounting for political ideology based on self-determination and small government.
How do we fix this societal trend? What is the root cause?
