Just past 55,000 rounds since new. 2100 since being coated in an electroless nickel - tungsten - teflon composite finish.

Every part is original, except the sights (upgraded last year to the battle sight and gold bead front), mainspring, recoil spring, and firing pin and the MSH pin (broke just after plating it, right in the middle).

Holster wear seems to have stabilized as it shown here. Some polishing of the finish at the areas seen.

Rails - no measurable wear, polishing is evident though.

A note about the parts. This gun was built with Wilsons MIM parts...which show zero wear, and have survived over a decade of competition shooting and gun schools. Extractor tension was never that high, and no loss of tension has been noted (to the contrary of popular 1911 extractor myth). No peening of the ejector. No burr pushed up on the slide. No erosion on the breech face due to soft easy to machine steel with a case hardening finish. No meaningful wear anywhere. This is what proper heat treat and decent steel gets you. Yeah, it cost $2k 10 years ago. So what?

I'd say that was a darn good pistol. If I had to bet my soft pink skin on a pistol, any pistol, this would be it. Including HKs, Glocks, Sigs, whatever. This has been THE pistol for me. My only complaint? Apparently the guys in AR have incredibly soft, delicate hands and insist on 30lpi checkering.

Bill, I sold my last custom 1911 and kept a GI Ithaca for old time's sake, but I think if I buy another custom or semi-custom 1911 it will be a CQB.

I'd say that one is a really good 'un.

-- From what I hear, you're wrong -- it is a typical 'un. There are few things in life more satisfying than a lot of money, wisely spent.
