*rather than hijack ELi's thread, I made this one*

Chase is great people, he is Alabama Post certified and an FBI certified firearms instructor, other guys he has teaching are Curt Carpenter who runs/owns Lighthorse tactical (long mil and leo background) and Greg Brundage who has the same. They teach stuff they learn from all over and don't label it their own, I have taken two three day courses from them. I've taken the dark and day vehicle gunfighter courses which is the practical application of shooting in and or around vehicles. In these classes you actually shoot from vehicles etc and there are some ballistic demos done with the windshield, door, etc. Those classes are 10% instruction and 90% application getting to actually do stuff from the vehicles and isn't a whole lot of just sitting on a square range shooting paper. Also they don't just go over malfunctions and how to clear them but will induce them with the hated f**K stick. Chief I wanted to wait but I wanted to see about having him come out here or sending some folks out there to Gadsden, AL where he usually runs the course (Its normally run on Gadsden, AL Police range).

That just looks cool as hell.
I'm nowhere close to being at a skill level that I'd be comfortable taking one of their Gunfighter courses, but I plan on getting there eventually.

I took ECQC with Talon Defense last year and it was my first chance to meet Chase after having talked online with him for probably a year. SOLID dude.

A Gunfighter or Dark Gunfighter class is hopefully on tap for me later this year.

And I've not spent a lot of time on different dept ranges, but I was impressed with the Gadsden range. Heck, it's better than the Atlanta Police Dept range that I was on last week. Actually, one of my buddies who was with me said the same thing to me quietly while we were at APD. "Yo, this range is ok, but man, Gadsden is much nicer overall isn't it?"

Nice pictures KP.

Oh yes APD's range does suck bad lol. Gadsen is a nice facility and Jay is an awesome
guy too. If I can ask what were you doing at key rd?

Taking pictures for a certain local manufacturer who may or may not have recently secured a large contract with a local PD. (which is why I've not chimed in on the thread about the recent contract announcement)

I really like the grass.

We didn't get down on it in our class, but I guarantee that it would be more comfortable than the gravel that I've seen at most other ranges.
