Interested, but will probably be in a car with a pair of decidedly not gun-nutty folks at the time. Although one of them *is* a lawyer, I might be able to convince him it is interesting...

It's better for everyone if less of us exist.

I'm Jewish.

That's my sabbath.

Unless you want to come to Synagogue with me and listen to me talk with all the other people talking at services when we should be quiet, a Saturday presentation isn't really happening for me.

If this is a sample of your legal advice, I'm not sure I should take the class ;-)

That was career advice, not legal advice.

Sheesh, I would never advise somebody to do that over the Internet. I'd it over the phone where no one was listenin!

I see what you did there...

I also have a service that you can connect by computer and see your computer screen. It comes with a conf call line as well.

I am interested but will be traveling that day so it can be hit and miss, just depends if US Airways decides to leave on time.

Question... while you can cover this subject broadly, isn't some of it (and perhaps *really* important parts) state-specific??

I'm only a licensed to practice in Connecticut, so, yes, some of the most important parts which are state specific will be different for those in other states.

You can use the material discussed as a starting point for compare/contract, research, or for a more focused (and less costly) consult with a local authority on the issue.

I was talking with Mitchel the other day and realized he does not have a Shot Timer. Perhaps we could take up a collection to buy one for him as a thank you.

I think it went very well.

There were many excellent teaching points, but the highlights for me were the following:

Mitchell had a great approach in explaining the legality of preemptive attack. The gist of it is that you can use your knowledge of the instant circumstances and observe your encroacher's pre-assault cues to come to a reasonable belief that an escalation of force is necessary, even before the encroacher has actually initiated violence. In my experience, that is a concept a lot of people have trouble grasping, especially when they are also told that they cannot instigate confrontations that lead to use of deadly force.

He also did a particularly excellent job explaining how formal training (like ECQC) can make a significant difference in helping a defendant properly articulate the reasonableness of his actions in the legal aftermath of a self defense shooting. I am all for anything that helps encourage folks to seek out formal training beyond whatever state-mandated requirements exist to say, have a concealed handgun permit.

I am taking up a collection to thank Mitchell for the Phone Class.
Ostensibly this collection is to buy him a Shot Timer which his does not have
but I am sure he could put any money collected to good use.

I will accept three methods of payment

1) a check mailed to my home

2) cash mailed to my home (actually I have done this a few times
and had not had problems, just wrap the bills in tinfoil)

3) paypal, (Everyone's favorite)

While your donations are between you and your god, it might be easier
if I set some parameters:

$10 Brown turd level
$20 Platinum Executive lifetime level

It might be best if I give the resulting take to Mitchell as a Gift
certificate to Brownells or something similar. That way if there is
any extra he can buy snap caps or a sight tool or the little handle
which replaces the glock slide cover.
