Kind of a show off moment, but really it is a bit more personal than that.
Over the weekend I was able to participate in a USPSA classifier match and decided to dig out my 1911 that was given to me by my father. Don't worry he is still alive!
This was the gun I learned to shoot with in the back yard at coffee cans as a teenager and where my handgun itch started.
I would ended up shooting other guns and the old Kimber languished in the safe for about 10 years other than maybe a random magazine once in a while.

Some practice the week before the match and a bit of luck on the stages they chose to include at the match.
I shot 3 personal best classifier percentages and was able to make Master in the Single Stack division with a higher overall % than my primary division.
This is the Kimber I mentioned in the "Kimber" thread a couple weeks ago, it has around 10k on it, not counting whatever the original owner put on it and has been holding up pretty well.
Most every thing is original other than the grips and the mainspring/magwell, same long dead tritium sights and a terrible 5lb trigger

I might have to try that. I added the HBI spring kit, which was slightly better than stock, but nothing to write home about.

That is what I had. I could of lived with the HBI trigger and spring kit, but after feeling the Timney, no way could I go back.

Continuing work on the pole barn. Finally got the T&G under the porch up. Wood was bought pre-covid. Just haven’t had the time with decent weather. Last board will go up when I install the LED strip lights. They sent me the wrong controller, so I’ll run the wire and fasten the board up with brass screws in case it needs to be removed for access down the road.
