I did this today. It's more legible in person but at the same time I think these stencils need to be half-assed to get the desired effect.

With my last 20 rounds I tried that just for the hell of it. Mostly I shot the CHP model because last time I kept hitting low with it so I wanted to make sure it was me and not the gun. The other was there to compare against but that was unnecessary as I was able to put out some nice groups to POA with the CHP. The other one will get sold as the hammer spur does a number on the back of my hand.

I dunno if this really fits with "show off". But I finally got tired of having gun crap spread across two floors and three rooms of the house. So, I put to use an old salvage store find. This is a heavy-duty steel traffic control box from Chicago. That was gutted, when empty it weighs about 200 pounds. I paid about 50 bucks for it a couple of years ago. I'd originally intended to turn it into a hipster bar and separate a fool from his hard earned cash. But I kind of liked it as a storage bin for random crap (mostly honey do stuff and tools). Finally, I thought, "Hey, I'll get some bins, fill this thing with them and organize all of my shooting related paraphernalia and get some more room in my safe. Also, just organize shit into one place...

25876

As you can see, it didn't take long for me to fill the damn thing up -

25877

Bonus, it's not only heavy, but it has dual pry-resistant locks on it.

Thanks, I have a Mk8 but have been thinking of a Mk14 for an update of an older gun with a quad rail.

Those SOCOM barrels shoot well. My work gun has one cut to 11.5 by our armorers. I especially favor the heavier profile because we aren't running free floats.

Mk14 is way better in the hand than the Mk8 in my opinion. Unless you absolutely need the MLOK slots on the 45's, I don't see a reason to get a Mk8 now days.

Mk4 is too small to me, same with CMR and other rails. I appreciate it as an option but for me the MK8 feels better in the hand.

Got the CNC warrior brace/stock adapter installed on my M92 PAP pistol. You have to drill the back of the receiver but then you don't have a big stupid hunk of metal sandwiched under the pistol grip. I also got a detent for the front but I don't have a flash hider yet. Also got an Ultimak rail, Primary Arms red dot, AKT trigger, Magpul PG, AKOU enhanced safety, and a US Machine Gun brace kit

https://pistol-forum.com/showthread.php?31426-Graith-PF-Exclusive-EDC-Keychains

For such a simple device, I really like it.

The bright clear orange color means can spot my keys across the room. The loop comes quickly to hand when I’m fishing for my keys in my pocket. The light weight of the material adds virtually nothing to my key ring, plus it’s not bulky.

I ordered the PTD option; it’s a great complement to a good AIWB Holster.

And purchase of one supports P-F.com.

I think Mack has a winner here.

I want a burrito so bad but I can't. If I'm not down to 175 by the end of the month, then I'm not cutting my hair or shaving. I hate having long (for me) hair and the beard is a pain but I've got to punish myself somehow if I don't drop pounds.

I'm working on that myself but I had a minor setback with an old knee injury flaring up so I decided to be a complete idiot and throw in a couple extra cheat days since it happened the same morning I was supposed to buy groceries and standing long enough to cook the food I hadn't bought was difficult for a few days. I'm back up and moving around so time to get back on the wagon, at least diet wise. Need to take it real easy hitting the treadmill for a bit.

When I was a kid my dad had an old flashlight with a built-in magnet to stick to something while you were working. At the time I had a toy rifle made of wood and metal so I would stick the flashlight to the metal parts of the gun and clear the house when it was dark.

No worries I didn’t take it tha way. I wish I had that on tape. I will definitely be setting up the go pro from now on. Even if all I catch is mistakes I’ll still learn something.

A friend’s uncle passed away recently. In cleaning out the house they found a stash of guns. A few of them (1914-vintage Winchester .30-30, 1909-vintage Colt 1903 Pocket) were grandpa’s old guns - so grandkids inherited them. But a few more were things Uncle had just accumulated over the years. Buddy texts me with a picture and says, “What is it? And since you’re a revolver guy, do you want it?”

And that’s how I ended up with a $200 Enfield No. 2.

Wasn't sure about the orange lettering on the side at first, but I kind of like it now, something different.

Just finished putting this together. M92 PAP with SBA3 brace, Magpul K2 grip, AKT trigger, AKOU enhanced safety, Ultimak railed gas tube, Primary Arms red dot, and Modified Magpul MOE handguard. I nabbed the VLTOR light mount and G2X off another gun to try but I'm probably going to mount a pistol light on the handguard instead. Still needs an Aimpoint H1 in place of the Primary Arms and a flash hider.

Modding the Magpul handguard wasn't terribly difficult but it takes a Dremel, time and patience.

I threw it on there to try it out, trying to make the light and sling attachment jive together. They don't really so I flipped it around and moved it to the back of the handguard and I'll need to figure out a different light solution.

I have one of those shoulder rigs for a K frame snub only it's in much rougher shape.

I can believe a rig like this has been worn a lot. This one was a NOS I bought I dunno 10-years or so ago off Gunbroker or Ebay. It's a favorite of mine for winter/spring/fall carry, because it hides under a jacket easily. It's also my preferred driving rig, due to the low profile and ease of carry with an aluminum D-Frame. Gun in this case is a '68-vintage Colt Cobra with '60s vintage Fitz Ten-O grips, but loaded with Speer Short-Barrel Gold Dot.

If anybody is in need of an upside down rig for a revolver - Both AE Nelson and Nevada Gun Leather have them. And each of them offers a different harness type, Nelson has a figure-8 type harness (like the one I use with this rig). And Nevada GL uses what is sometimes called an H-type harness (which basically doesn't have a cross over in the middle of the back).

I'm a bit jealous that it works so well for a D frame but not quite as well for a 12-2. :(

I'll take a look at the newer rigs. Thanks for the heads up!

I'll take a look at the newer rigs. Thanks for the heads up!

I've found about a 20-ounce (loaded) weight limit with my rig. The 1" wide harness starts to cut in, with weights much above that, needing constant readjustment and movement. I tried this rig a few times with an all steel DS and it just doesn't work.

If you're running a 12-2, I'd look hard at the Nevada GL rig, which has much wider straps.

It is the cross draw model and it works well for AIWB the extra leather does work somewhat like a claw and I believe you could mount a claw in that spot if you wanted. As far a leather AWIB holsters go it works well and is very comfortable but it is no match for a JM Custom Kydex wing claw 2.5 with wide set soft loops for repeated draws (like in a class).

Got a little farther on the M92. Added an Eclipse flash hider, and AFG and a BCM AR receiver plate with a QD socket to the bace adapter. Had to do a litte fitting to the AFG to move it so far back. Still playing with light mount options. Right now I can't use the front QD socket because my hand covers it up. I'm either going to change to a Bulgarian 4-piece muzzle device so I can push the light out farther, move the light to the other side and run a tape switch, or push the optic forward and add a QD sling mount behind it on the Ultimak rail. Or I could just live with a single point sling.

Turned a padauk (https://www.wood-database.com/african-padauk) keychain for my wife a couple of weeks ago to match her pen
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48295135241_1d889421c1_c.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/2gzFc8x)

Then I turned a section of antler already cut to length and pre-drilled for a bolt action pen
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48295231572_dbbbae623a_c.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/2gzFFLq)

Monday I finally remembered to pick up the last couple of things I needed to apply the CA (super glue) finish so I finished it up and assembled it Monday evening.

This is probably as close as it will ever be:

After springing for a second 650 I am probably set for my needs. Left to right:
Dillon 650#2 - This is the new one, will be used for 223/300BO, 45 and probably 38
Dillon 650#1 - I am loading enough 9mm now it is a PITA to try to get ahead so that I do not have to switch from whatever else I might be doing
Dillon 900 - This is for 20g, pretty exclusively for 3/4oz #9 for skeet
Posness Warren 800 Plus - This is for 12g, pretty exclusively for 3/4oz #9 for skeet
Dillon 550 - This one has been around forever, have setups for 380 (used once...), 38, 357, 45, 40, 44 (but 45 and probably 38 will move to the 650)

And here is another view that also shows the Rockchucker I have had since about 1973:
41833
This also shows the neat toolbox my grandfather built as a government project when he was actually working for the government (WPAFB) and has all of his machinist tools in it.

BTW, going to try and get by with only one casefeeder for the 650, it is pretty easy to move and was half as much as the press when I bought the second one. I bought a simple knob to replace the screw to make it easier.

It rides very well on a nice stiff belt. The loop is steel lines.

I chose this holster on advice of Red Nichols, who told me to select one that places the heavy N-frame cylinder squarely on the belt.

As others have said, it’s an exercise mace. I’m using it to improve flexibility and strength in anticipation of Squatober. Imagine swinging a sledgehammer but with more weight on the end. Fun tool, spear-like thrusts to a heavy bag are fun with this thing. Though I can only do two sets of five for each arm right now.

Also, if the zombies break out a 10-pound mace doesn’t run out of ammunition.

I posted this one on my IG earlier - file this under “things I can’t wear to work”

Unfortunately the 10-8s aren’t mine they are the smiths and yes I tried to buy them to no avail. The gun started life as a Les Baer UTC 1.5”. I sent it to Lou at BEC for pretty much a new everything; the slide, frame, barrel, plunger tube, and grip safety are the only things that are still original. Some of the checkering had been flattened so it was removed and Pete Single recheckered the frame at 25lpi. Rollmarks were removed by Bunker Arms and then Lou worked his magic on everything else. I wanted something simple yet badass and I think this hit the mark. I’ll hopefully have it in my hands by the weekend and will post more pics then.

Jungle Carbine? Cool gun. Let us know how your shoulder feels afterward.

Today's range trip was brief and more a function test than any serious shooting. Distance was 50 yards off a bench. Ammo was PPU 174 grain FMJBT. I used the flip up sight at the 200M setting to utilize the smaller peep. Four rounds right handed, including figuring out my hold over resulted in a 5"-ish group and some stringing.
56868

Left handed was a bit better with a 4"-ish group.
56869

Recoil was a bit sporty off a bench but no worse that a M44 or a 30/06 hunting rifle.

The Pitts has been my all-time favorite airplane since I was 12 years old.

TC215, just reading your reply. I'm sure I don't have to tell you how cool that Pitts Special is. A truly timeless design. In my admittedly limited experience with aircraft, I did have two unforgettable ones back in the '70's. I had a coworker take me up, twice, in the biplane he owned. He was a veteran of Korea and Viet Nam. Since he passed away years ago, other than it being an open cockpit, I'm unable to tell you what brand or model - that plane was. Those two flights are in my top five lifetime experiences, all-time.

Thanks for bringing it back to me!

I think TC215 wins this show off thread! That Pitts is a Ferrari compared to the sedate family sedan Musketeer we used to putt around in;)

I’ve heard my dad talk about it. Patey is an interesting guy. I was glad he didn’t get hurt when he tore up DRACO.

Same. Very much looking forward to what he does with the next Wilga. Meanwhile, the Scrappy build has me looking into building things with composites... which was of no interest prior.

For those of you who like planes, my grandpa, Karl Bergey, was Assistant Chief Engineer for Piper and designed the Cherokee and some others too. He passed away last year. His windmill generator company is still going. Bergey Windpower, www.bergey.com. He was also in WWII. He still taught aerospace engineering at OU when he passed away, that's where he met my grandmom, who was head librarian in the engineering department for 25 years. A little history there. ...okay back on track....

...anyway...bought my first HK today. The USP was designed specifically for the .40 S&W.

Properly stored .22LR lasts awhile, 47+ years and counting. (Hand written purchase date of 2-2-73)

My father purchased this about 4 years before I was born.

Very perceptive.

This was my dad's 'old man gun' and I think will be my next focus on pistolas for a bit. It's a 1.0, so it needs some things (barrel, trigger), and the original Deltapoint on top has a battery life measured in what feels like seconds...So a DPP on top will be coming along.

I'm thinking Agency Arms barrel and comp, Apex trigger, Deltapoint Pro...and the smallest backstrap I can find. Thumb safety feels pretty good and very 1911-like (my dad was a 1911 guy too), but the medium-sized backstrap puts my thumb a little low and doesn't let me flag the safety up like I can on a 1911.

I run the 2.0 compact with the manual safeties.
I run the small strap on them [the trainer and the carry] and it's near perfect for my hands, allowing for 'flagging'.
Try it out.

I had the backstrap off of it today and it turns out it was a size small in place.

The challenge with the M&P for me, is index. M&Ps always tend to come out muzzle high with a backstrap in place and muzzle low with backstrap removed. I need to probably set it beside a 1911 and shave the backstrap down to be the 1911 angle and size and see if it works.

I bought one of these recently for my wife. Man, what a neat pistol. If the 9mm situation wasn't what it is I would be really tempted to get one for myself or maybe even a full size with thumb safety.

Found this on at sportsmans outdoor superstore. Was like $50 more than I've seen them elsewhere but it was the only place they were in stock and $50 extra bucks was a pill i could swallow.

Its been begging me for a form 1 and a folding stock since I brought it home. Good thing I've already picked up an APG arms folder and a tacticool22 adapter to make it happen :)

My two latest acquisitions, shorty boi and long boi. Colt 11.5" upper on Aero pistol lower and a Colt A4 style upper that still needs it's own lower so I slapped it on the one rifle lower I had.
