Yep. I polished the sear and hammer contact points, installed a WC/Wolff trigger conversion unit, EII Hammer, "D" spring", and had the barrel cut to 4.7" with an EII-style crown.

This is the final version of the 9mm Classic, aside from frame markings.
The small parts will be a high polished Nitre Blue, not the standard blue in the Photo's.

This has been a LOOOONG process and I appreciate the support here. I don't know that I would tackle something like this again if I had it to do over, but the ball is rolling now, with these first guns finishing up.

The interest here has been great, and I hope we have created something worthwhile. We have tried to incorporate the desired changes owners have sought for many years, while not deviating much from the original design.

More info is up on the website, and I hope the pictures, dust and dings included) give a good look at what we are doing.
The gun in the picture was the final prototype, and stays here. The production version is identical other than markings and blueing.

Thanks,

CW

You are in luck, I reviewed a 1-8x SR8c earlier this year -> http://www.vdmsr.com/2015/06/usoptics-sr8c-1-8x-red-dot-optic-in.html

USO makes solid optics, even though I had to get this one serviced, they are very durable and functional optics.

If you have experience with them then you are ahead of the curve.

I'd also say that my experience with the Trijicon AccuPower, though limited, has shown me that the AccuPower glass is really good comparable to the USO 1-4x, almost as clear but the reticle is not as usable (at least not the green milsquare). It is a solid option for a lower power (1-4x) optic at 1/4 the USO price.

Cannot really say, while I've shot other 22's I cannot remember how they felt. This one feels the way any pistol would with a can.

I've found a lighter pistol (or carbine for that matter) feels more nose-heavy when adding weight (a can) to the front end than a heavier counterpart does. I was wondering how much that was the case with this particular setup, FWIW.

Quite true. Actually we do ok, but those big checks were great. That said, being an involved dad is much better!

Thanks for the kind words.

So, that little girl in the pics is now 13.

3 weeks ago she shot her first elk, a nice cow, on a 3 generation hunt. The shot was a lasered 375 yards, and she put it directly behind the shoulder, as instructed. Here she is pointing to the POI.

For her birthday this year she received a T3 in .308, which I had the barrel trimmed back, a brake added, and bought an extra wood stock, which was cut down to fit her. When she gets bigger, we can put the original stock back on. Needless to say he Papa (grandfather) was quite proud, as he watched the 45 minute stalk.

Thanks all,

The mag is a 5 round extended version. I bought some extras, as I have a few T3s, and some came in red, some blue. It works well to differentiate loads, or cartridges (I have a 6mm Rem T3).

My wife got me this 1960's vintage Bausch & Lomb BALscope spotter for Christmas this year. Near mint condition, 30x eyepiece, both lens covers and original mount.

Crytsal clear and tough as nails. This beats the hell out of my cheap ass Barska and Burris spotters and wasn't much more $. A good spotting scope has been the one thing I have been reluctant to drop real money, not sure why.

So this just arrived. The 13th production Spyderco built in America. First knives had aluminum handles, and later ones made with G10. This was a collaboration knife between knifebuilder Bob Terzuola and Spyderco, built under agreement by the company which would become Benchmade. The story as described by Bob T. and Sal Glesser (owner of Spyderco):

"When Sal Glesser of Spyderco first approached me for a Clipit design in 1989, we had been friends for several years. We knew each others standards of quality and willingness to truly collaborate and produce a product we both could be proud of. I was up front with him about my requirements for using ATS-34 (never before used in a factory folder), and having the knives made in the USA, not Japan (resulting in the eventual creation of Spyderco Manufacturing in Golden Co.).

"The resulting C-15 became somewhat of a milestone in American made pocket knives, being the first factory knife made in the USA (or anywhere else) using ATS-34 steel, the liner lock and G-10 for its handles. (Few people know that even Benchmade got its start from this knife since Les D'Asis was the original manufaturer, even before Benchmade existed)."

-- Robert Terzuola

-------------------------------------------------------------

Lester (Lester de Asis is the founder and President of Benchmade Knives) had just moved his new factory to the Portand area. He was producing bali-songs along with a few models of Browning origin.

"Spyderco had no US mfg facility at the time and Bob T insisted that it be US made. Lester and I had been friends for many years. I agreed to have Lester make the C15 design for Spyderco. Lester and I went down to Bob's shop in Sante Fe and Bob taught the both of us how to make linerlocks using the ball bearing detent developed by Michael Walker.

"Lester went on to produce the first several runs of C15's for us. Then Spyderco set up our own mfg facility in Golden and took over production.

"It was good for both Lester and I in many respects."

I can't speak to that particular knife, but Spyderco has been making folding pocket knives in Colorado since 1981. The C01 Worker was their first design.

They started in 1973 with a non knife related product that actually gave them their name. It was an articulated clamp system that looked like a spider. The company settled in Golden in 1978 and started producing knife sharpeners.

I bought a Spyderco Mariner in Colorado in 1985. It had The Spydie Hole, stainless steel frame/handle, forward positioned back lock, a belt clip and serrated edge. All innovations to the folding knife world that are credited to Spyderco.

Here's a pic of the original Spyderco C01 Worker from the Spyderco Forum (https://www.spyderco.com/forumII/viewtopic.php?t=39213)

The Janitor,

Are those yours?

I had always been under the impression that the original Spydies were assembled in the states from Seki City blades. A little research tells me that the C01 Worker and C02 Mariner were never manufactured in Gloden, only in Japan. I learn something new every day.

I believe if it's engraved, and un-numbered, it's from a later batch. These two are owned by a mod on USN. the top is #0031 and the bottom is #1495. I was fortunate to snag #0013

The C15 was a new step for Spyderco, and what would become Benchmade. I think D'Asis was making them in Oregon

Les D'Asis had just come away from the Pacific Cutlery bankruptcy when we asked him to make the C15. Benchmade did not exist as yet and grew from the small storefront in which he made our knives. BOB

Must be it then. Mine is half serrated like the bottom one.
I take it the un-numbered are not so much a collector's item then? This one isn't in great shape, but if it has any significance to Spyderco fans I'd look at passing it along.

Once you learn to control things and get a few good shots it's sorta easy. Coming up with good ideas is the limiting factor.

Booze, wings and whiskey is on me.

Who's shooting where in Pittsburgh? My wife and I are really looking to join a nice club being that public ranges are severely lacking in the area. Tonight's our 3 year anniversary and we're going to check out the Trafford Sportsmens club. Also heard Clairton sportsmens club is good, and a few others. Maybe tonight would be a good be a good night to try that Wiggle bourbon from Lawrenceville, I think

I live in the city, right by the liberty tubes. My wife and I went to the Trafford club for our 3 year anniversary and we really liked it. It's just kind of a drive. I guess we're stuck going to Anthony Arms until we join someplace closer. At least anthonys lets you bring your own ammo now

PMSC and/or BVRPC. Both are useful. I'm in Shaler and find the time of day to influence where I go. Since 28 has been fixed it's easier to go PMSC.

Just a heads up, those were our issues boots maybe two years ago. They did not go over well with most guys and they fell apart very quickly. I never even wore mine. Traded them towards a new pair of Danners at the uniform store. I think we now issue some other garbage Under Armour boot.

The oldest daughter from a few years ago. (she does mounted cowboy action shooting).

Now more than ever, I think the flying of the NRA/Gadsden flag seems appropriate.

My son got stitched up for the first time last week! Wife sent me this picture of him and my daughter this morning at the Doc's office getting it cut out.

Haven't heard how he did getting it out, but handled it like a champ getting them! Did the ole man proud.

(Small cut on forehead, not to wide/long but it was pretty deep).

Mexican carry is the only acceptable way to carry that.

No not yet. I'm planning to put her to work next range trip though. That was more of a quick run to the range for a function/new sights check.

I had one of those mpap jobbies when they started selling around here. Bought the price of a glock.

Issue is it needs like $600 in mods to work right, atleast the one I had did. Sights weren't aligned properly, trigger was shit. Wood was cracked and overall was a heavy fucker. Btw it shot fireballs.

If I can be find one that has a rail already and doesn't need a lot of break in work I'd take that over an AR in a bag for daily carry.

The plan is to get a Shockwave Blade on a folding mechanism. MI Just came out with their gen II AK handguard/rail systems and will be offering one for these so I'll probably go for that or a Gen I. And I need a flash hider.

Scan it in full resolution. Remove the 1902 and make some large prints...I'd buy one.
