First off, I want to thank everyone on the forum for all the positive input and support over the last couple of years. I have made a lot of valuable friends and have gained more knowledge than I know how to assimilate.

Because of the rapid growth of the business, I have decided to actually take on an apprentice. Kurt Monsen, a friend of well over 20 years, will be joining me. I feel quite confident in Kurt's ability and his attention to detail is probably even more anal than my own.

Now, on to the new holster and a little eye candy.

After a lot of input, I have refined the AIWB-CDA into a much thinner package. Some pictures first.

(excuse the shape of the 1911, it is a work in progress, lol)
The latest version of the AIWB-CDA has been redesigned to be much thinner than the previous model and thinner than most leather holsters available. Through the use of strategically placed reinforcements, welts and a special proprietary leather hardening process, the holster can be very thin, yet stay open when the gun is drawn. The AIWB-CDA II will revolutionize appendix carry. The layout of the holster makes for an extremely comfortable fit, that allows for a full range of motion, without the worry of printing and long term discomfort. The belt loop is offset, to make for a more streamlined holster and the front reinforcement grips the top of the belt, to keep the holster from pitching downward.
The AIWB-CDA II comes with a removable foam yaw pad on the backside of the holster and two leather spacers, for the offset belt loop. this allows you to adjust tuck of the grip. The holster is also tuckable(standard)

Kurt in various sitting and bending pictures to show the comfort range of the holster and how the mouth stays open.

The list price is set at $185 and comes with the pads, shims and screws needed for adjusting the holster to your fit. As I mentioned before, the unit is tuckable as it comes.

Again, thanks for all of your support and I look forward to answering any questions you might have.
Jim

BTW, Some of you will have this coming your way in the next few days, through the next few weeks. You know who you are ;)

Nice looking holsters! I have an AIWB CDA for a Glock 17 and like it a lot. It keeps the weapon very close to the body, in addition to being sturdy, comfortable and very well made.

Glad you like your holster Fred. I appreciate your business!

Looks really nice and interesting...kind of like the old Ayoob Rear Guard updated for appendix. More of a Front Guard?

I like it because the "thinness" is lacking for me in some appendix rigs I've tried, and anything that will make it print less, I like.

This looks very promising.

Thanks Clyde. I was trying to get the leather as close to a kydex holster, thickness wise, as leather will allow for.

Thanks! Some holsters will be showing up in people's mail boxes soon. I am sure there will be plenty of feedback. Interestingly, Kurt was convinced that he could not wear a pistol IWB in total comfort and concealment. He figured it just wasn't going to happen from previous experience. He KNEW there was no way he was going to be able to carry appendix. So, we picked out his bulkiest pistol and gave it a whirl. He was absolutely stunned how comfortable it was for him to carry this way. Another convert ;)

That looks fantastic, Jim! I have been pleased with the AIWB-CDA, but a thinner version with the offset belt loop built in will no doubt be even better. Might just have to upgrade all of my current AIWB-CDA's. Nothing wrong with having spares, right?

I was thinking of you yesterday and your SP2022. I will shoot you over an email a little later today.

Just to show how well the holster stays open, I placed a 45lb barbell weight on the holster, with belt, for an hour. This one is for the XDS.

8 weeks on average for regular leather items, 12 weeks for exotics. I try to be a little vague on the website because I get first timers who start calling me a week after they place an order to see how much longer it's going to take.

If i had to redo it for my XDS, I would make the body of the holster about 1/2in longer.

Any chance you have some pics of the newer version for an M&P Shield? If not, could you post some pics of your XDS one?

Yes, I would like to see the XDS holster as well. Why do you want to make it 1/2 inch longer? Is it a straight drop or slight forward cant?
Thanks.

I have one in the pipeline for the Shield coming up. For now, here are a couple of pics of the XDS.

Swenson, the reason I would add the half inch to mine is for the extra leverage on the yaw pad. My personal holster is pretty short, so the yaw pad does not do much for you. You can not see it in the picture, but I slipped it behind the belt loop to give it more pitch inward and back. Pretty much the main reason.

Looks great! The original AIWB-CDA was already a hit, I'm sure the new slimmed down design will be even better!

Thanks Brian. It really is as close to kydex slim as leather can get. BTW, you can be expecting something in your mailbox in a few weeks ;)
