Are the Gen 4 Glocks in 40 showing BTF or any other issues that have been documented with the 9mm Glock's?

Yes. They are the worst firearms ever made. I'm buying my third gen 4 .40 when my wife gives me the green light because they're just so god awful.

They work and Glock's customer service is pretty good if you happen to ever need it.

Good to go and you might find ammo a little easier with the .40's.

Pinal County Sheriff's office in AZ switched to the gen4 22 a year or two back and have nothing but great things to say about them. My shooting partner is a Sgt and SWAT member with them and he is grandfathered in and can shoot almost anything (including his 1911) and he is now carrying the G22 full time. He was one of the guys who was against going to the model department wide, and he just says he was wrong. He is a believer. Pinal County SD is a fairly good size office, and gets a lot of work (they are in the middle of the narco-gangs smuggling routes), so if there were issues, they would have came up by now.

IIRC, most of the issues with Gen 4 guns are isolated to 9mm models.

A Glock 23/4 is part of my normal "carry" rotation now and it's working just fine.

Lots of rounds through it so far with no problems that I can detect.

200+ put into use over the last year in a few user groups. Mostly G22s. All are shooting 180gr loads at about 1000fps, with some quantities of green range ammo, and occasionally other loads. Virtually none run WMLs. Ejection is brisk, function is excellent. Most users opt to not install the M or L backstrap. Recoil qualities are more favorable in the gen4 vice earlier, and accuracy is good.

Similar results with the 9mms, though in a smaller quantity. Of the 9mms, most are G19s, with a healthy representation of G26s. G17s are less popular.

The G22Gen4 performed well in the extensive BATFE contract testing.

My sample of three (2x G22s and 1x G23) have had varied results. My G23 (purchased August '11) was my first Gen. 4 and it was reliable but would sling brass to the shooters face frequently. I never experienced malfunctions but it was painfully annoying. This continued over approximately 3500rds. My first G22 Gen.4 (purchased November '11) immediately experienced sporadic brass to face, double feeds, stove pipes, and FTE. In early 2012 I was able to locate one of the newer style ejectors, installed it and the gun immediately improved. Zero issues that were experienced before, 4000+ rounds and it continues to run like a top. My third G22 Gen. 4 (purchased April '12) came with the updated ejector and has seen no malfunctions for 2500+ rounds. Most all of those rounds have been with a Streamlight TLR-1 mounted. I'm satisfied with my G22s now, I eventually got tired of the G23 punishing me and sold it.

My advice, based on my experience, would be to check that your G22 has the most up to date ejector and RSA. Any recent production guns, like within the last year, should be up to date. My PD is waiting on 30 G22 G4s any day now so I'm glad that the G22s are running well. When those guns arrive I should get to see how well a larger sample of recently produced gun run.

My employer doesn't seem to have gotten around to issuing the 4th Gen 22s yet. I run firearms training for my task force, and have not seen any Gen 4 22s or 23s, or 17s suffer any malfunctions on my ranges. I've talked to the guys who were issued the Gen 4s by their departments and they talked about having early problems with them, but the parts in question were switched out and I haven't seen or heard of any new issues.
