I posted a contest at my website (http://pistol-training.com/archives/7909) about these...

Seriously, where do you even begin?

The flip-up sight: why would you put a flip-up "fast into action" sight on a gun? Either it's fast into action, or it needs to be flipped up. It can't be both.

The low profile sight: you realize they're taller than any suppressor sights on the market, right?

Overall I just don't get it. Apparently you're supposed to center the front dot inside the big oval when you need to take a fast shot but align the front dot with the rear dots when you need precision. At 7yd does anyone want to guess how high the gun is going to be shooting if you center the front sight in the rear oval? I'm guessing at least twelve inches.

I'm all for innovation. And I'm a lot more picky about my sights than most people, too, so I'm not criticizing people who want to find a better solution. But the world really doesn't need a bunch of people running around with sights that will essentially force them to miss the target, do we? Or will these be another of those they don't work in IPSC but they magically work great when someone is trying to kill you gimmicks?

The best thing about them is they are not Big Dots.

Someone needs to Photochop the Eye of Sauron into the Low Profile.

Holy cow watch the video:

The woman evaluating talks about how easy they are to use just by looking at the target (at about 1:10). By 1:20 you see that what she's really doing is using the red take-up laser on the SIRT pistol to walk her shot into the bullseye. She's not actually using the Z-Flex sight at all... and says so, but somehow thinks that makes them wonderful.

Just awesome!

We've put these sights on here, but you can ignore them.

Wow! When I ignore the sights I don't notice them!

I like my Big Dots.

I don't like these, ah, contraptions...

There's no comparison between the two - the Big Dots look downright sane compared with these wings attached where a sight belongs....

Z-Flex Sights; all the bulk of a red dot, without all that wasteful precision.

AWESOME.

It also looks a hell of a lot more shootable that way.

You don't even need sights at pistol fighting distances...

I'm sure they are combat accurate.

Only real sheepdogs understand that in a tactical engagement, you don't need precise sights. These seem like a great idea. I've already ordered 1 of each type to mount on my rotation of carry pistols.

I'll put one on my Sig 229 diamond plate edition with punisher aluminum grips. The other set will go on my G17. I've got all titanium internals to reduce lock time & maritime spring cups for firing under water or on wet operational conditions. The last set will go on my RIA Tactical 1911. I carry that when I need more knock down power. It's just as good as any Colt or expensive 1911.

Taurus equipped with Z-flex sights and carried in a VersaCarry.

I'd volunteer to test it, but I have this thing about not having a desire to have a holster catastrophically disassemble when I attempt a draw resulting in a gunshot wound to my important bits.

...not that the Taurus would actually work, you understand...

Negatory -- that sight would interfere with the clip pouch.

I wouldn't be surprised if the original name was Whispering Eye.
